Biography
Ludwig “zai” Wahlberg is one of the most experienced and strongest players in the competitive Dota scene. As a representative of the Swedish school Dota 2, he managed to establish himself as a universal player with a unique approach to the game. We draw your attention to the path of becoming Zai as an esports player.
Career start
Zai began his journey into the competitive scene long before he joined the professional team. Since childhood he was fond of computer games. Zai was particularly good at MOBA games. He is the youngest world champion in HoN. Zai won the 2012 DreamHoN Championship at the age of 14.
In 2013, he moved to Dota 2. There, the first club Zai played for was the Stay Free team. After playing for the team for several months, the player moved to Super Strong Dinosaurs, from where he moved to SADBOY S-Team in January 2014. The player showed a decent level of play for all teams and in 2014 he was invited to one of the best clubs in the world – Evil Geniuses.
First transition to EG
Zai joined EG in February 2014. With the team, he became the champion of regional tournaments, and also made it into the TOP-3 of The International 2014. After this result, Zai became a real star. Unsurprisingly, standout Team Secret became Zai’s next team.
First transition to Team Secret
Zai joined Team Secret in January 2015. With the club he took first place at Summit 3 in May 2015 and at ESL One Frankfurt 2015 in June. Good results didn’t help Zai and the team at The International 2015 where they finished 7-8.
After failing TI 5, Zai took a year off from Dota to complete his schooling. He resumed his career in 2016 and joined EG.
Second step to EG and find yourself
Zai became an EG player for the second time in June 2016. In August of the same year, Ludwig again took 3rd place at The International 2016. He continued his performance for EG, finishing 3-4 at the 2016 Boston Major, 1st at the 2016 China Top, and 3rd at the Dota Pit League – Season 5…
In April 2017, he and his team took 3-4 places at the 2017 Kiev Major. A month later, they won the 2017 Manila Masters. The team also took second place at the 2017 EPICENTER. Good results were offset by a failure at The International 2017 where the team won 9-. 12th place. In August 2017, zai left EG.
The Swede’s next club was The Dire, for whom he played less than 3 weeks. Later there was OpTic Gaming, where Zai spent a year but didn’t get any significant results. In September 2018, zai joined Team Secret for the second time.
Second step to Team Secret and personal rewards
Zai became a Team Secret player again in September 2018. Almost immediately after returning to the secret camp, the team played at another level. Zai and his team became champion of Chongqing Major in January 2019. In May of that year he won the MDL Disneyland Paris Major. At The International 2019, Zai and his team placed 4th.
In January 2020, he and the team became the champions of DreamLeague – Season 13. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Secret has held the record for the number of consecutive games won. The team also won 5 championships in a row. Ludwig has earned over $2,445,000 in prize money throughout his career.
Dota 2
Dota 2 is – unlike other big MOBA titles like League of Legends – free to play with all heroes. However, game items can be purchased in the Dota 2 store, but all of them have no effect on the gameplay. Only cosmetic items like different skins for the heroes can be purchased. Just like in Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Portal 2, it is possible to create your own content via the Steam Workshop.
Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena title from Valve. The successor to the extremely popular Warcraft 3 modification DotA (Defense of the Ancients), Dota 2 was the company’s first strategy game and was released on the download platform Steam on July 9, 2013. The game is a free-to-play title that can be played completely free of charge and is financed through in-game micro-transactions, similar to Team Fortress 2.
