Dota 2 Player – YamateH-Ng Wei Poong

Professional Career

YamateH first appeared on the DotA scene in 2007 during MYM Prime Defending – No. 8, when Kingsurf surprisingly defeated the then invincible SK 2-0. In one of the games, YamateH played against Lina, scoring 3 triple kills and 1 ultra kill. In the other games, YamateH killed Lodas Zeus with a couple of hits with his Shadow Fiend. In the SMM of the same year, Kingsurf dominated with a near perfect display of skill and unique strategies. At MYM Prime Defending – No. 8 in 2008, YamateH defeated MYM with Harbinger and gained fame. Later, YamateH reached the pinnacle of his e-sports career after finishing second in the first ESWC-DotA tournament in San Jose, California.

With the merger of the late Zenith and Ks, Yamateh drastically changed his role from main-carry to ganker. At the 2009 SMM, Kingsurf was defeated in the loser’s bracket, narrowly losing to the 2009-led FTD, where ZSMJ’s Phantom Lancer managed to rearm a Holy Relic after it had been destroyed.

Nirvana.my

Due to the frequent inactivity of the Kingsurf team, the new DotA powerhouse MUFC persuaded YamateH to join forces with them in 2010. However, barely a month after the formation, YamateH mysteriously decided to end the merger prematurely. Yamateh and Ice instead made their way to Nirvana. Nirvana’s disappointing 6th place finish at SMM has led many to discuss the team’s future.

In 2011, YamateH left Nirvana.my due to internal problems within the team. However, he and hyhy teamed up with Roy, Art, and Sharky to form the new Scythe.SG, which won ADC and placed second at IPDC. After that, Scythe’s financial instability led to YamateH’s abrupt departure.

MSPR

Immediately after completing The International, YamateH was invited to join the brand new team of MeetYourMakers, but did not play a single game with them. Instead, YamateH participated in MGT with MSPR and was picked up by Typhon Esports before SMM 2011, where the team finished 5th.

Neolution Orange
YamateH joined Orange just before the Malaysia Invitational and won the tournament after defeating MiTH-Trust 3-2.

Dota 2 is – unlike other big MOBA titles like – free to play with all heroes. However, game items can be purchased in the Dota 2 store, but all of them have no effect on the gameplay. Only cosmetic items like different skins for the heroes can be purchased. Just like in Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Portal 2, it is possible to create your own content via the Steam Workshop.

Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena title from Valve. The successor to the extremely popular Warcraft 3 modification DotA (Defense of the Ancients), Dota 2 was the company’s first strategy game and was released on the download platform Steam on July 9, 2013. The game is a free-to-play title that can be played completely free of charge and is financed through in-game micro-transactions, similar to Team Fortress 2.
