Biography
Vladimir “RodjER” Nikoghosyan is a professional Dota 2 player of Armenian origin. RodjER started his career in 2014 and since then he has played for most of the top teams in the CIS. He has participated in many prestigious international championships and has not won any of them. We present you the way how to become an esports player for RodjER.
Start your career
Like most esports athletes, RodjER began his journey into the competitive scene long before he joined the professional organization. From a young age, the player was passionate about computer games, which later helped him to have quite a successful career.
The first club RodjER played for was the Cleave Gaming Team. The player stayed there for only a few months and participated in minor leagues and championships. RodjER’s next stop was Aware Gaming Club, where the player didn’t stay long either. Later, RodjER returned to Cleave Gaming, where he tried again to be successful. He did not succeed and in October 2015 he moved to Hard’N’Play.
RodjER did not stay at Hard’N’Play for long. A few days later RodjER left the club and became a Prodota Gaming player. For PD RodjER played in small championships and leagues and tried to get into TOP. He made these attempts several more times: at GUS Gaming, FlipSid3 Tactics, Skorokhod + 4, Rebels and Effect. All of them were in vain.
The first success came for RodjER when he joined Team Empire.
Team Empire and first successes
The first championship RodjER participated in Team Empire was DOTA Summit 7, where the team finished 7th and 8th, but this did not prevent the team from qualifying for The International 2017.
Before the main championship of the year, the team won another small tournament – OverPower Cup – No. 2. At TI7 itself, the team finished 7th and 8th, which was an excellent result considering that they were defeated by the future champions Team Liquid. After such an unexpectedly successful result, RodjER became an extremely promising player in the CIS arena. Natus Vincere was the first to notice it NaVi
RodjER joined NaVi in September 2017. With him, the team qualified for several tournaments, including StarLadder i-League Invitational – No. 3 : CIS, PGS Open Bucharest 2017 CIS, and DreamLeague – Season 8, but achieved “average” results in most of the tournaments. The team finished 5th-6th at StarLadder, 7th-8th at Bucharest, and 4th at DreamLeague – Season 8. Later, NaVi finished 3-4th at MDL Macau and 7th-8th at ESL One Genting 2018.
Despite the rather mediocre results, RodjER remained in demand and moved to VP in February 2018.
VP and the period of dominance
RodjER switched to VP and quickly got a taste of victory. In February 2018, the team won ESL One Katowice 2018, while in March, VP won the Bucharest Major and in May, it won ESL One Birmingham. In June, the team finished second at the China Dota2 Supermajor. At The International 2018, the team finished 5th-6th, repeating the organization’s best result.
After that, the team did not let up and continued to perform well. In November 2018, the team won the Kuala Lumpur Major, followed by a runner-up finish at the Chongqing Major in January and second place in DreamLeague – Season 11 two months later. In May 2019, the team finished 7th-8th at the MDL Disneyland Paris Major and 3rd at the EPICENTER Major a month later. At The International 2019, the team was sensationally eliminated from the championship in 9th-12th place. This tournament was the last for RodjER with VP.
Find yourself and return to NaVi
In November 2019, RodjER switched to Winstrike, but the results have so far failed to materialize. In March, the player tried to play for HellRaisers, but after 5 months with “average” results, he left the team.
In September, RodjER became a player of FlyToMoon and managed to win OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division and qualify for OGA Dota PIT S3: Europe/CIS.
In the same month, the entire FlyToMoon squad was signed by NaVi. The player returned to the domestic camp and won and finished 4th at the OGA Dota PIT S3: Europe/CIS.
In his career, the player has already earned over $1,310,000 in prize money.
Dota 2
Dota 2 is – unlike other big MOBA titles like League of Legends – free to play with all heroes. However, game items can be purchased in the Dota 2 store, but all of them have no effect on the gameplay. Only cosmetic items like different skins for the heroes can be purchased. Just like in Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Portal 2, it is possible to create your own content via the Steam Workshop.
Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena title from Valve. The successor to the extremely popular Warcraft 3 modification DotA (Defense of the Ancients), Dota 2 was the company’s first strategy game and was released on the download platform Steam on July 9, 2013. The game is a free-to-play title that can be played completely free of charge and is financed through in-game micro-transactions, similar to Team Fortress 2.
