The Dota 2 community celebrated a significant milestone on May 28 when Danil “Dendi” Ishutin, the iconic player and former NAVI legend, became the 35th member to join the prestigious ‘1,000 Club’ in professional Dota 2. This exclusive list comprises some of the most prominent Dota pros to ever grace the game, including renowned players like Team Secret’s Puppey, Shopify Rebellion’s Fly, and Nigma Galaxy’s KuroKy.
Dendi’s achievement of reaching a thousand wins in a game he has competed in for over a decade is undoubtedly remarkable. However, when it comes to win rates, Dendi finds himself at the bottom of the list among the elite 1,000-win club members. According to DatDota, his professional win rate sits slightly above 51 percent, which places him behind the other 34 Dota titans who have reached this milestone.
In a recent match against ALPHA in the Dota Pro Circuit Division One Tour Three, Dendi secured a victory with his team B8. While he didn’t get to showcase his signature hero Pudge, his exceptional performance on Queen of Pain, resulting in eight kills and only two deaths, played a pivotal role in guiding B8 to a 34-minute victory in the second map of the series.
Unfortunately, despite Dendi’s successful inclusion in the 1,000 Club, B8’s overall performance in the competition has been challenging. The team currently holds a 1-4 record, and as they head into the final week of competition, they face crucial matches against Team DogChamp (3-2) and Felt (0-3) in a bid to secure a spot in the top six and remain in Division One.
However, the future of B8 remains uncertain, as relegation into Division Two is a possibility if they fail to perform well in their upcoming matches. Additionally, there is ambiguity regarding whether B8 will compete in Europe or North America in the next season, as the rules stipulate that teams cannot compete in a DPC division outside their geographic location. Despite this, B8 was granted an emergency exemption to play in the North American league despite being based in Europe, which drew criticism from the community following PGL’s disqualification of Fart Studios in a similar situation.
Dendi and his team will be facing Team DogChamp on May 30, and their determination to secure their Division One DPC dreams remains unwavering. As they step onto the battleground, they hope to showcase their skills and strive for victory in order to solidify their position in the highly competitive Dota 2 scene.
