“Death Prophet Krobelus flutters beyond the veil of the world, peering into realms best left unseen. At her back flutters death itself, while in her veins flows the black ink of all her unwritten prophecies.”
— Description

Function
Fluttering Mortis not only changes Death Prophet’s model by adding a sort of moth dress to her, displaying visual effects, and making her ghostly legs appear, but also makes her first ability Crypt Swarm appear differently in the game and changes the ability icon and sound of what is effected by a kinetic Gem. While Fluttering Mortis has no other effect on gameplay, the item itself does come with an additional Gem.
Obtaining
You can obtain the item randomly from the Immortal Strongbox. No key is needed to open it. However, the chest was only given to owners of ‘The International 2014’ compendium whose compendium is at least level 10. The number of chests received also depends on the level of that.
Update history
- May 30, 2014: Fluttering Mortis was added to the game.
- June 02, 2014: Added sound effects for Death Prophet’s Fluttering Mortis immortal.
Dota 2
Dota 2 is – unlike other big MOBA titles like League of Legends – free to play with all heroes. However, game items can be purchased in the Dota 2 store, but all of them have no effect on the gameplay. Only cosmetic items like different skins for the heroes can be purchased. Just like in Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Portal 2, it is possible to create your own content via the Steam Workshop.
Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena title from Valve. The successor to the extremely popular Warcraft 3 modification DotA (Defense of the Ancients), Dota 2 was the company’s first strategy game and was released on the download platform Steam on July 9, 2013. The game is a free-to-play title that can be played completely free of charge and is financed through in-game microtransactions, similar to Team Fortress 2.
