Disabled player is first bullied, kicked and then becomes a Twitch star

There are always great stories in the world. The latest addition to these stories is Adam “Loop” Bahriz, a gamer who was first bullied for his disability in Counter-Strike, kicked off his and then – thanks to the community – became a star.

The 17-year-old Adam Bahriz suffers from the rare disease “Hereditary Sensory and Autonomic Neuropathies”, or HASN for short. His face and mouth are deformed, he hardly feels any pain and is almost blind. Nevertheless, none of this is a reason for Bahriz not to play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, even if he has to get very close to the screen to do so. But Bahriz is not only an avid gamer, he has also been playing his favorite shooter for years in the ESEA (E-Sports Entertainment Association) and even streams his games on Twitch. But it was there, during a live stream, that Adam Bahriz, whose name is “Loop” in the game, was humiliated by his fellow players.

: ridicule and malice

Although the player informs his teammates about his illness before each game to prevent problems right away, not everyone reacts to it. As a result, he was accused of trolling because of his voice and continued to play in tears before ultimately being unanimously ejected from the game. Stunned, Bahriz threw away his headphones and stopped the broadcast for some time. The few viewers of his stream were horrified, but one user took heart and posted this incredible story on Reddit.

CS:GO: celebrities and donations

Within a few hours, thousands of players found themselves on the Twitch channel of “Loop” and donated so much money via the donation function that it almost made Bahriz uncomfortable. He asked to stop the fundraiser, as he had already collected his hoped-for amount for surgical procedures. But it wasn’t just the CS:GO community that got behind the disabled player.

Many eSports professionals also paid tribute to Bahriz via Twitter or directly in-game. These included Christopher “Get Right” Alesund from Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP), Gabriel “Fallen” Toledo from SK Gaming, and Daniil “Zeus” Teslenko from Team Gambit. Cloud9 player Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert logged right into a game and fought side-by-side with Bahriz. Last but not least, even the highly successful Team EnVyUs came along and offered “Loop” a contract as a streamer and representative of the team. Player’s response: “Am I dreaming?”

By the way, the player who instigated Bahriz’s kick during the match was suspended for three days by the E-Sports Entertainment Association. What do you think about this story? As usual, you can read more news about Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on our topic page
