Already in the run-up to Blizzcon, which will take place on November 2 and 3, 2018 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, Blizzard released a video message on the future of the Diablo franchise in August, much to the surprise of fans. There, community manager Brandy “Nevalistis” Camel revealed that they are currently working on not just one, but several Diablo projects and would like to publish the first information about them in the course of this year. Now that it is known that the Diablo 3 Eternal Collection will be released for Nintendo Switch on November 2, fans are expecting the “breaking news” about Diablo at Blizzcon.

Last night, Blizzard unveiled a new Demon Hunter skin for Overwatch heroine Sombra during the Blizzcon 2018 All-Access Kickoff Show, which Blizzcon virtual livestream ticket buyers can use right now. After the presentation of the contents of the Blizzcon 2018 Goody Bag, which includes a “Classic Diablo” vinyl figure, as well as the aforementioned pre-announcement of new Diablo projects, it should now be pretty certain who the opening ceremony of Blizzcon will be dedicated to.
