At the BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2022 in the Danish capital Copenhagen in November 2022, eight teams will be competing for a prize pool of around 425,000 euros – six contenders for the winning purse of around 200,000 euros have been determined since Sunday, August 28, 2022.

OG beats FaZe Clan

The first tickets to Denmark were bought by the teams of OG, Team Liquid and Natus Vincere (NAVI). Most impressive was OG’s run, which started as badly as it could: losses to Vitality and Astralis saw the quintet start from the bottom of the play-in stage. However, after a win over rebuilding opponent Complexity, OG pulled off a real coup: successes on Ancient and Inferno allowed OG to overcome FaZe Clan. The latter has already won four major tournaments in 2022, including the triple of the “CS:GO” world – the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) in Katowice and Cologne, as well as a Major.
NAVI also started the competition with an opening loss, but quickly recovered despite the absence of Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev during the group stage. After his return for the play-in stage, qualification was no longer a problem. The third slot was secured by Team Liquid.

Close Last Chance Matches

For the FaZe Clan the Last Chance Matches proved to be a salvation: a 2-1 victory over Astralis secured the exceptional team a direct ticket to the finals after all. This final result actually occurred in all the duels of this tournament stage, in which the losers of the Play-in Stage semifinals and finals were given one last chance to qualify.

G2 Esports defeated Team Vitality in a semifinal rematch, the Ninjas in Pyjamas defeated Heroic – both had previously succumbed to Liquid.

The competition ended unhappily for Berlin International Gaming (BIG): The German team already failed in the quarterfinals against G2 and thus missed the direct qualification for the finals. Instead, BIG’s quintet will have to play for one of the final two slots for the Copenhagen competition in the Fall Showdown, which will take place in October 2022.
