Team Information:
Virtus.Pro is one of the most famous multigaming games in the CIS and worldwide. The VP tag appeared in the esport arena back in 2007. Since then, VP has grown from a small team to a huge organization, whose squads have repeatedly won high-profile championships. We draw your attention to the formation of VP in Counter-Strike.
Early 2000s
The first mention of VP dates back to 2003, at which time the sport had not yet had time to formulate itself as a concept, and all championships were held in computer clubs. The first VP CS roster included:
LeX
F_1N
Snoop
Failure
Rille
With this lineup, the team appeared at the first e-sports tournaments and performed excellently. The team won the KPRF CUP in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Ekaterinburg, and also became the winner of the SKS Cup Open No. 1.
In the following years, the team overcame a maelstrom of reshuffles, as was often the case with teams of the time. However, VP continued to rank high in both regional and international championships. In 2004, the team placed 1st in the Arbalet Cup CIS 2004, won the ASUS Open Winter 2004, the ESWC Russia 2004, the National Professional Cybersport League 2004, the ASUS Open Summer 2004, and the ASUS Open Autumn 2004.
In the same year, VP placed 3rd in Intel Cybersport Cup, 3rd in ESWC 2004 and 9th-12th in Nollelva Digital Event 2004.
In the following years, VP regularly participated in major tournaments. With the release of CSGO, VP moved to a new discipline.
First appearance in CSGO
The first vice presidents appeared in CSGO in 2012. Then the bear shield was protected:
kUcheR
ANGE1
AdreN
evil
craft1k
But very soon VP was overtaken by changes. Dosia, Fox and GuardiaN replaced AdreN, evil and craft. The loudest victory for VP in this lineup was the championship at StarLadder StarSeries V. Then the five Bears managed to surpass the best team of that time, NiP, breaking their streak with 87 wins in LAN tournaments.
This squad lasted until the end of 2013, and in 2014 VP signed the Polish squad, which would later become one of the strongest teams in the world.
Golden Polish five
In 2014, VP said goodbye to the CIS CSGO roster and hello to the Polish squad. This composition included:
TaZ
NEO
Snax
pashaBiceps
byali
In the same year, the Poles fully justify the decision of the Vice President. The team wins one of the first major tournaments in history – ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014, but VP’s march does not end there.
In 2015-2016, VP gains momentum. They won ESEA – Season 18 – Global Invite Division, ESL ESEA Pro League Invitational, ELEAGUE – Season 1 and DreamHack Open Bucharest 2016. The team also finished second at EPICENTER 2016.
However, the team cannot repeat the result of Katowice 2014. At major tournaments VP. At ESL One: Cologne 2015 the team placed 3-4th, at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015 the Bears placed 5-8th, at MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016 they also placed 5-8th and at ESL One: Cologne 2016 – 3-4th.
An attempt to repeat the result of 2014 was also made in 2017. Then VP remained one step away from winning the second Major tournament for themselves, but in the final of ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017 they lost in a dramatic match against Astralis with a score of 1: 2. This became a collapse moment for the Golden Five.
Later, the team will win DreamHack Masters Las Vegas 2017 and finish second at EPICENTER 2017, but it will not be able to reach its former heights.
The decline of the Polish squad or a new beginning.
VP has been in crisis at CSGO since 2018. First TaZ left the team, later Snax left the team, followed byali. In 2019, the team left NEO and the newly returned Blyali.
Constant reshuffling and poor performance continues until December 2019. Then VP organization decides to sign AVANGAR roster and finally say goodbye to Polish players.
VP’s new roster looked like this:
Buster
Qikert
Jame
Sanji
AdreN
Later, the band left AdreN and YEKINDAR took his place. This composition of VP has been effective since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, showing stable results. The most significant – first place at BLAST Premier CIS Cup, 1-4 place at Flashpoint – Season 2: Closed Qualifier and victory at Intel Extreme Masters XV – New York Online: CIS
Organization
The duties of the CEO are performed by Anton Cherepennikov, and the manager is Sergey Glamazda. The position of the captain in the renewed list is taken by Jame.
VP CSGO cooperates with Parimatch, HyperX and Fragstore. Since the inception of the CSGO club, players have brought the organization over $3,400,000 in prize money.
CS:GO
CS:GO Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO for short) is a computer game from the genre of online tactical shooters. It was developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment and is the fourth part of the Counter-Strike series. The game was released on August 21, 2012 for Windows, Linux, macOS, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A release for the PlayStation 3 in Europe failed to materialize for unknown reasons. Global Offensive achieved a Metascore of 83 points. Since September 14, 2017, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has also been available in China via the Perfect World client. In December 2018, the game was switched to a free-to-play model, which drew criticism.
