Counter Strike CS:GO – Team MIBR

Team Information:

MIBR is one of the oldest sports clubs in South America. The organization was founded back in 2003, but the team got a second life only in 2018. We present to you the history of the CSGO division.

First impression
As mentioned above, the first mention of MIBR dates back to 2003. In the days of Counter-Strike development, almost all famous and not so Brazilian players played for the club. Fallen, fer and other veterans of the Brazilian Counter-Strike passed through the MIBR camp.

No wonder, however, that the team did not manage to reach great heights at that time. This was facilitated by frequent changes in the lineup and the insufficiently developed tournament component of the discipline at that time. They managed to revive MIBR by 2018.

Second Life and CSGO
In June 2018, it was announced that the once-important club was returning to the competitive scene. They made it loud and tasty, signing SK Gaming’s champion list. It included:

Fallen
fer
Coldzera
Boltz
Stewie2K
The lineup was full of big names and fans were waiting for no less loud victories. However, the first tournaments were not very rosy.

At ESL One: Cologne 2018 and ELEAGUE CS: GO Premier 2018, MIBR finished 7th-8th and 5th-6th respectively. Of course, such positions did not suit the players and management, and therefore the composition was changed. Instead of Boltz, Tarik joined the team, which further raised the profile of MIBR.

This was reinforced by the Brazilian club’s performance. In August, MIBR won the 2018 ZOTAC Cup Masters, and in September they finished 3-4th at the FACEIT Major: London 2018. In the same month, they finished 2nd in the BLAST Pro Series: Istanbul 2018.

By the end of the 2018 – Season , MIBR finished 3rd in Championship Series – Season 6 – North America, 3-4th in ESL Pro – Season 8 – Finals, 2nd in Esports Championship Series – Season 6 – Finals, and 4th in BLAST Pro Series: Lisbon 2018.

In the new year, MIBR decided to be renewed. In December 2018, the team made some changes in the squad: Stewie2k moved to Team Liquid, and TACO took his place in the Brazilian club. There was also a rotation in the coaching staff and YNK’s place was taken by zews.

Reshuffle the time and try to find your game
Although MIBR made a roster change at the end of 2018, the 2019 – Season began with a reshuffle. In January, the newly arrived Tarik was replaced by Felps.

With the renewed squad, MIBR entered the – Season race. In March, the club finished 3-4th at the Intel Extreme Masters XIII – Katowice Major 2019, followed by a series of failures.

The team finished 5th-8th at the World Electronic Sports Games 2018, 6th at BLAST Pro Series: Sao Paulo 2019, 5th-6th at ESL Pro League – Season 9 – Americas, 7th-8th at Esports Championship Series – Season 7 – Finals. The final straw was the 7-8th place at the ESL Pro League – Season 9 – Finals, after which the next lineup changes took place. At the end of June Felps left the squad and were replaced by LUCAS1.

In the new roster, the team failed completely at ESL One: Cologne 2019, finishing 13th-16th. After such a performance, Coldzera left the team, whose place was soon taken by kNgV-.

However, MIBR still didn’t feel very confident in the big tournaments. They finished 3rd-4th at Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Chicago, but they were among the first to leave the tournament at StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, finishing 12th-14th.

After the failure in Berlin, MIBR was partially rehabilitated. By the end of the 2019 – Season , they participated in the TOP-4 of several major tournaments, including ESL Pro League – Season 10 – Americas and CS: GO Asia Championship 2019.

At the end of 2019, MIBR made several more replacements. Felps returned and LUCAS1 was replaced with meyern.

The period of instability continues
In 2020, the situation did not change dramatically. MIBR continued to search for the optimal lineup while performing in all types of tournaments. However, these performances cannot be called successful. At the beginning of the year, MIBR failed to make it to BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 Regular – Season , where they finished 10th to 12th. After that, they opted for the 5th-6th line of DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020.

In April, a glimmer of hope flashed and MIBR finished 4th in ESL Pro League – Season 11: North America and 2nd in Flashpoint – Season 1. Later, MIBR failed to make it to ESL One: Road to Rio – North America, which led to changes inside composition. Mayern’s place was taken by trk. In the updated list, MIBR finished the game by September 2020 and failed all championships at the same time.

In September, fer, TACO and FalleN went to the bench. At the end of October, they were replaced by LUCAS1, leo_drk and v $ m.

In December 2020, MIBR finished 4th at Flashpoint – Season 2, the final performance.

As of January 2021, there were no players left on the active MIBR squad. The only member of MIBR is nak, who will be responsible for the future development strategy of the roster and will also assume the role of content creator.

Organization and Awards
The CEO of MIBR is Ari Segal, and Lurppis is the manager of the CSGO roster. MIBR has worked with a number of well-known brands, including Gamers Club, Betway, Ironclad and AL33.

Since the CS division’s inception, the squads have already earned the club $1,477,000 in prize money.
