Team Information:
AVANGAR is a Kazakhstani esports organization which was founded in the summer of 2017. It ceased operations on April 1, 2020, after choosing to focus on building and developing esports venues in Kazakhstan. The organization later returned to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in November 2021 with the signing of a new roster.
2017
In mid-July 2017, the eSports organization AVANGAR signed the ex-LoG squad, which included such players as Buster, KrizzeN, Qikert, Dimasick, Flomaster and Coach Dastan.
Interesting fact: before the change of team members, this squad had the lowest average age of players among all representatives of the CS: GO scene.
A month later, Flomaster left the band and was replaced by Jame.
For several months, the Kazakhs failed to perform well in any tournament, and at the end of October they won the CIS Minor, which was timed to coincide with the Boston Major Championship.
2018
At the beginning of 2018, ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 took place, where AVANGAR performed very poorly, finishing 17th. For this result, the team did not receive a consolation prize or an invitation to the next Major.
On April 3, AVANGAR won the CSGO.Net Cup No. 2 and received a cash prize of 11,930 USD. On the same day, the team announced that Jame would become inactive and Ramz1k would play instead.
A month later, Jame returned to the roster in place of Ramz1k and assumed the role of leader in the game. In May, AVANAR participated in the 2018 Adrenalyne Cyber League, where they placed 2nd and received $25,000 as an award.
In July, dimasick was benched and prepared for transfer, and Fitch took his place, with the team gaining serious momentum.
Over the next four months, AVANGAR won championships such as Thunderpick Invitational – No. 2, CSGO.NET CIS Derby, MSI Gaming Arena 2018, and Hellcase Cup #7 for $7,000, $6,504, $30,000, and $22,800 respectively. On October 6, dimasick was acquired by Gambit eSports.
CS:GO
CS:GO Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO for short) is a computer game from the genre of online tactical shooters. It was developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment and is the fourth part of the Counter-Strike series. The game was released on August 21, 2012 for Windows, Linux, macOS, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A release for the PlayStation 3 in Europe failed to materialize for unknown reasons. Global Offensive achieved a Metascore of 83 points. Since September 14, 2017, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has also been available in China via the Perfect World client. In December 2018, the game was switched to a free-to-play model, which drew criticism.
