“They don’t work if you watch them.”
— Description

The Aperture Science Wardcore is a ward from that can be used by all heroes in the game.

It was added to the game with the First Blood update and is a part of the Portal pack.

Function

Once you have created the Aperture Science Wardcore, all the Wards you place in the game appear differently. They are round robots stuck on plant-like stalks and all have a large eye, which is yellow for Observer Wards and blue for Sentry Wards.

Obtaining

Currently, the Aperture Science Wardcore can only be purchased in the Dota 2 Shop. It is also available as part of the Portal Pack, so it can also be purchased along with the Portal HUD Skin, Mega Kills: GLaDOS, and the Announcer: GLaDOS.

Update History

  • September 23, 2013 (First Blood update): Aperture Science Wardcore was added to the game.

Trivia

  • The Aperture Science Wardcore is clearly modeled in appearance on the various personality cores of GLaDOS from the Portal and named after the Aperture Science company
  • The descriptive text alludes to Wheatley from Portal 2, who asks protagonist Chell to turn around at several points in the game, as he cannot do certain things while being watched.

Dota 2

Dota 2 is – unlike other big MOBA titles like of Legends – free to play with all heroes. However, game items can be purchased in the Dota 2 store, but all of them have no effect on the gameplay. Only cosmetic items like different skins for the heroes can be purchased. Just like in Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Portal 2, it is possible to create your own content via the Steam Workshop.

Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena title from Valve. The successor to the extremely popular 3 modification DotA (Defense of the Ancients), Dota 2 was the company’s first strategy game and was released on the download platform Steam on July 9, 2013. The game is a free-to-play title that can be played completely free of charge and is financed through in-game microtransactions, similar to Team Fortress 2.
