The women’s team Fallacy is accused of cheating at a tournament in Valorant accused. Allegedly, a player’s boyfriend stood in for her in the match via her account. As proof, a Google Doc was published in which the game settings of the player and her boyfriend were compared.
Who is Team Fallacy? Team Fallacy is a women’s team that plays Valorant professionally. The rooster of Team Fallacy currently consists of the 4 players (via vlr.gg):
What is the Galorants Astral Clash event? This event pits teams made up entirely of women against each other in Valorant.
The tournament took place from July 22 to 24, 2022. The competition in which cheating was alleged was an LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier). This means that Team Fallacy had secured a spot in the chalked match for the upcoming Astral Clash LAN tournament in California.

Payen allegedly played instead of mars
What is Team Fallacy accused of? Allegedly, the partner of an e-spotler played for his girlfriend in the tournament.
Who is the friend who allegedly filled in? Mars’ friend is known to be a former TSM player: payen. TSM stands for Team SoloMid and is an e-sports organization with professional valorant teams. In TSM Academy Rooster payen played for a while (via liquipedia.net).
It is believed that payen had filled in for mars and played for them through their account.
What’s in the Google Docs document with the evidence? The document includes eight pages of alleged evidence for the cheat. There are many screenshots and explanations of why mars’ friend is said to have played for them.
For example, reference is made to a particular 1v5 clip in another match where mars teams’ reaction would not have matched their win. Allegedly, this video had already been faked.
Also referred to are the keybinds, where mars would normally use “F” instead of “C” for ultimate.
If you want to know in more detail what the evidence consists of, you can access the Google Docs here (via google.com).
Has mars cheated now? Alleged evidence has been collected and published in the Google Docs. However, at the current time it cannot be said with certainty whether mars cheated or not.
So far, there have been no official statements from Riot Games or from mars regarding the cheating allegations. Therefore, the accusations remain unconfirmed speculations for the time being.
What does the community say about the allegations? Jake Lucky posted on his Twitter channel on July 26, 2022 (via Twitter):
Below the text is a video with gameplay. Then @JakeSucky posts screenshots from the document with the evidence and links the docs.
Translated, the English text reads, “In a recent document, a female Valorant team called Team Fallacy was accused of using the boyfriend of one of its members during an Astral Clash event. This includes that the alleged boyfriend had this 1v4 clutch and ace.”
Many believe mars cheated and find the allegations problematic. @rinaeles fears, “If true, they’ve ruined not only this particular game, but an entire look at the female valorant scene/tournaments in general. I thought the CSGS situation from back then would have taught people something.”
Possibly my user @rinaeles is referring to the incident of a CSGO tournament where cheaters won.
Some users express amusement at the accusation, like @Leakdd2 who writes: “Boyfriend cheat activate” or @IIIIIIIIIIII who just comments “LoL”.
Why is this a touchy subject? What resonates with the discussion is that women can’t play “well,” but that there must always be something wrong when a woman performs well in a shooter.
This topic has come up more often in the past:
The constant discussion about whether women are really good at games really annoys many good female gamers: Twitch streamer Hafu, for example, was statistically the best in Teamfight Tactics and clearly superior to the “male experts”, but had to hear that she was only favored by the manufacturer because she was a woman. For her, this is clearly an example of the fact that gaming is still dominated by men and that some people have a problem with women.
The female streamer Pokimane played her way into the top 0.5% on Valorant. But she was told that she had only been drawn:
Twitch streamer reaches Immortal rank in Valorant – has to listen to “she was pulled”.
