The new – Season 5 2021 of Call of Duty: Warzone is online. MeinMMO shows you an overview of what the new – Season brings and what rumors are circulating.
Update 13 August: The new – Season 5 is online. Here you can find the patch notes:
Update August 11 – 18:45: Call of Duty announces that the new – Season 5 has been postponed by one day. New start is now Friday, August 13 at 6 am.
Original message: What’s up with Warzone? Call of Duty’s Battle Royale is about to enter its 5th joint – Season with Black Ops Cold War, and it’s bringing a decent slew of new features to the game. MeinMMO shows you in this short news, what – Season 5 brings in Warzone.
When does – Season 5 start? On Friday, August 13, the new – Season will launch. The update and content will probably go online at 6am. Here you can find the roadmap and a deeper look into the upcoming content. You can watch the trailer here:
Warzone: Confirmed content in – Season 5
- Mobile locations that are different every match
- New Battle Pass and four new weapons
- 2 custom perks for Warzone
- Fresh gulag
- Mid– Season “The Numbers” Event
- New mode “Collision
What new locations are coming in – Season 5? The new venues are “Mobile Transmission Stations” that are in a different location in each match. There is hot loot and apparently the stations send a signal to other teams when you use them.
What about the fresh Battle Pass and new weapons? Like every – Season , you can unlock a new Battle Pass with 100 levels. Included are 2 new weapons – the MP TEC-9 and the EM2 assault rifle. Right at the start of the – Season there is also the walking stick as a new melee weapon and later still comes the pistol Marshal. A trailer of the Battle Pass is already in circulation:
What’s the deal with the new perks in Warzone? For the first time Warzone gets its own Perks:
- Combat scout – Hit feins are marked
- Hardened – You only need 2 armor plates for full armor
A deeper look at the Perks can be found here: – Season 5 brings 2 custom Perks for CoD Warzone for the first time – Here’s what they can do.
What does the new Gulag look like? The new Gulag takes the Rush map as its model. Unlike the current Hijacked Gulag, the Rush variant should be more open, with scattered cover elements scattered across the map.
What is this event? A new live event, “The Numbers”, will be launched in mid– Season . Through the event CoD pushes the background story forward, but not too much is known about it yet. The new mobile broadcasting stations and the Red Doors will definitely have something to do with it. You’ll probably be able to earn themed cosmetics again.
What is this new mode? “Collision” is an evolution of Warzone’s Rumble mode. 50vs50 players chase points for victory and the playing field is a random and delimited region on the large map Verdansk. Unlike Rumble, more mechanics of normal Battle Royale should be available in Collision. Ping system, orders, buy stations, vehicles – everything is enabled and is supposed to make Collision a team deathmatch with Battle Royale feeling.

Warzone: Rumors about – Season 5
- New Call of Duty celebrates Reveal
- Next-Gen Upgrade
What’s the deal with the new CoD? Pretty much exactly a year ago, in August 2020, the hunt for Black Ops Cold War’s Reveal Trailer started. Content creators got mysterious boxes sent home, and after a week of Easter Eggs and 80s-style puzzles, the developers showed off the first real trailer in the Battle Royale via a live event at Warzone.
For – Season 5, some leakers from the CoD environment expect something similar. There is a tweet floating around on Twitter that dates the new CoD’s reveal to August 19. The tweet has since gone offline and there was no source to the info either. Nevertheless, the info kicked up a lot of dust:
What’s the deal with the next-gen upgrade? Also unconfirmed is the upgrade of Warzone to the technical level of the PS5 and Xbox Series. A player’s find brought this rumor to the forefront and an Activision employee even responded to the “leak”. You can find more information about this in our article on the topic: CoD Warzone will probably get next-gen upgrade for – Season 5, but what about FoV?
Warzone enters its next chapter and shows off a respectable collection of new features. More exciting, however, are the rumors from behind the scenes, as is often the case. If the new CoD is indeed introduced in – Season 5 and gets a similar showcase as Cold War did back then, then you definitely shouldn’t miss it.
Whether CoD 2021 will indeed get a Warzone reveal or your next-gen console will soon have to do more work when running the Battle Royale, you can find out as always on MeinMMO.
