The Call of Duty League pits the best Warzone and Modern Warfare players against each other. Last weekend, it was even possible to win up to 10,000 US dollars. But you don’t even have to play and participate in tournaments to benefit from this: The makers of CoD have now introduced in-game rewards that you can get just for watching.
CoD Warzone: Watch pros & dust off in-game rewards for it.
Earn rewards: You can now collect rewards for watching Call of Duty pros at work. Since the Seattle Surge Home Series Tournament over the weekend, In Game Rewards have been available for Modern Warfare and Warzone respectively.
This is a feature that fans have apparently wanted for quite a while. Now the Call of Duty League has officially introduced it, albeit only as a beta for the time being (with which there were probably already initial problems, but your progress will still be tracked).
This is how it works:
- Log in to the CoD Companion app or CallofDutyLeague.com with your Activision account.
- Connect your PlayStation, Xbox, or Battle.net account.
- Watch livestreams on CallofDutyLeague.com or the Call of Duty companion app to collect rewards
You’ll get your first in-game bonuses for as little as ten minutes. In addition, your progress or viewing time is also tracked on different devices. So you can watch 30 minutes and later another 30, but still get the whole hour credited.
These rewards are available: According to the official website, lots of “cool rewards” are beckoning. The following are explicitly listed, but are probably not all of them.
- Double XP Tokens
- Team emblems
- Team sprays
- Team player cards
The rewards are then supposed to automatically show up in your game once you have unlocked them. They are compatible with all Modern Warfare platforms, so PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
What is the Call of Duty League? Tournaments are held regularly in the Call of Duty League. The CoD League currently consists of 12 professional teams, but only from North America and Europe. The individual teams are divided by city.
League matches operate in a – Season al format and are usually played out in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer matches on PS4. However, there are exceptions like the Call of Duty: Warzone tournament from the weekend, where 48 pros played for $10,000.
What do you guys think? Do you watch it anyway, or does something like this motivate you?
