CoD Warzone bans 90,000 cheaters, players say: that’s not enough for us

In : Warzone, the developers are still on the hunt for cheaters. Now they shared the result of a major ban wave on Twitter, but the community is not fully satisfied.

What’s going on in Warzone? From the very beginning, cheaters were up to mischief in the PC version of CoD Warzone. With aimbots they hit inhuman headshots, wallhacks use the cheaters to see enemies through the walls. These are advantages that make it difficult for “honest” players to win rounds and keep the fun in this Battle Royale.

The developers are permanently fighting to upgrade their game against the cheaters. To do this, they use tools like Ricochet, which help detect the cheaters and kick them out of the game.

Over 90,000 bans in one week

This is what the team says: On Twitter, the Call of Duty team posted a tweet on March 19 stating, “#TeamRicochet update: 90,000 accounts removed this week due to ban waves. Happy Friday.”

On the one hand, banning 90,000 accounts is a relatively large number. But in relation to the player numbers, the community shows itself dissatisfied with it. So @its_menieb writes “One down, millions to go”.

What the players say: Many users write that these 90,000 people will simply create a new account and then continue cheating in the PC version. After all, Warzone is Free2Play – those who are banned do not lose any money stakes, but simply create the next account.

Even streamers withdrew from Battle Royale because the cheater problem became too big.

However, it is now harder to create a new account while using the same PC that was banned, explains @tyronebiggum5 in the comments under the tweet. There is currently no software that works for pretending to be on someone else’s PC.

For user @M_PaulCezanne on Twitter the numbers are too low, however. He writes “90,000 a week? Looks like you guys need to turn it up a notch.”

As with every other ban wave, there are players who declare that they were banned innocently. They write that they played normally and didn’t use cheats or other banned tools, but were banned anyway.

How are things going for you guys in Warzone right now? Do you feel that the developers need to crack down even more, or are they already getting a handle on the problem? Write us your experiences of your last matches here on MeinMMO in the comments.

A tactical item in CoD Warzon is so damn strong that you should always use it.
