Both developers and fans of Call of Duty have been anticipating an exciting reboot for the franchise with Vanguard and Warzone Pacific:

Caldera was the first all-new map to come to Warzone since release; Vanguard aimed to excite fans with a return to the fast-paced gameplay of CoD’s most popular titles. A new anti-cheat was also expected to improve the gameplay experience in both games.

However, despite these attempts to improve and refresh the gameplay experience for fans, frustration prevailed just before Christmas. Both Warzone and Vanguard suffer from many problems – some of them the same.

As a result, CoD fans believe that the shooter franchise is doing worse than ever. Some players also see this as a reflection of the structural problems at the developers themselves.

Warzone is “in the worst state it’s ever been in”.

Is the CoD trouble coming from the problems at Activision Blizzard?

These lists show that the problems and complaints are mirrored between Warzone and Vanguard. The community also links this to the ongoing problems at Activision Blizzard itself. Among other things, game testers at Warzone developer Raven Software were allegedly fired for no reason. To what extent CoD’s problems directly reflect those of Activision Blizzard cannot be judged from the outside at the moment.
