With some delay, – Season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard is finally here. And has packed a lot of innovations, such as new vehicles, weapons, game modes and multiplayer maps. We’ve collected all the information for you in this article.
Last update: March 22, 2022
New: All info about – Season 2 Reloaded
All info about CoD Warzone – Season 2: Reloaded
The mid– Season update of CoD Warzone is just around the corner and brings a lot of changes with it. Of course, we also have a roadmap for an overview for you:
Already on March 23 2022 at 17:00 the mid– Season update of Warzone starts. For CoD Vanguard you can download the update one day before. However, there is no preload for Warzone. There is also no information about the size of the update yet.
Map: All changes on Rebirth Island
Rebirth Island gets with – Season 2 Reloaded the biggest revision so far. In addition to the improved view, some familiar locations have been reworked and some have been added completely new.
Around the point Stronghold To make the game more attractive for the players, the developers have added some new buildings, as well as a tower. This will not only give you a better overview, but will also soon contain more boxes with valuable loot.
In the Port of Rebirth Island, two new supply ships will drop anchor in the patch. Below deck, some crates are waiting to be looted by you. The ships are completely walkable.
The Prison has received a lot of optical adjustments, which is why you should hardly recognize some of the buildings. In addition, there are now more cover options in the courtyard, which will make fights there much more pleasant.
Modes: Three new modes come into play on Rebirth Island
Rebirth Resurgence Solos: The well-known mode is extended by a solo variant. As usual, the Battle Royale mode plays much faster on this map and provides fast-paced action.
Rebirth Payload: In this game, three teams fight over trucks that are driving on a certain route through Rebirth Island. Either you have to attack the convoy or escort it.
Rebirth Blood Money: This mode works like Loot money
but has a special twist. As the name suggests, you also get a lot of money for kills, which is why the PvP aspect should be even higher.
Event: Rebirth Island Reinforced
In the new event there are again all kinds of skins that you can unlock by completing tasks on Rebirth Island. Included is a legendary blueprint for an LMG. But the real highlight is the Weapon Trade Station, which you can unlock by completing a community challenge.
At this station you can trade in your weapon and in return you’ll only get a lower quality shooting iron, but you’ll also get a whole bunch of other stuff. Depending on how valuable your weapon is, you can get series, kits, backpacks, money, equipment, and specialist badges.
All info about CoD Warzone – Season 2
If you want an overview of all the changes, take a look at the packed roadmap:
The Vanguard update is available for download a bit earlier, namely from February 10. Presumably, the 2nd – Season will last about eight weeks, as usual. A mid– Season update has already been confirmed.
Size: How big will the download be?
– Season 2 is much more compact than the last update – this time there is no new warzone map in it. Here are all download sizes on the respective platforms:
- PC: 11.5 GB (Warzone only) / 15.5 GB (Warzone and Modern Warfare)
- PlayStation 5: 14.1 GB
- PlayStation 4: 14.1 GB
- Xbox One Series X/S: 13.7 GB
- Xbox One: 13.7 GB
PC gamers also need an additional 23 GB of free disk space on the hard disk, but this is only occupied temporarily.
Weapons: Which ones are new?
Of course, – Season 2 continues to stock up the armory of Warzone and Vanguard. This time with three new guns and one melee weapon:
- KG M40: New Assault Rifle to become available at the start of the – Season
- Whitley: One of the first wartime MGs also becomes available at – Season launch
- Ice Pick (in the course of the – Season ): Misappropriated, this tool is also good for knocking out operators in close combat
- Armaguerra 43 (in the course of the – Season ): SMG that you must either unlock through a challenge or buy as a bundle.
Map: What changes on Caldera?
– Season 2 adds new locations to the Pacific map: the chemical factory and underground labs.
Chemical Factory: This replaces the plant between the mines and docks where phosphate was previously processed. Instead, the combat gas Nebula V is now produced here. However, the layout remains very similar to before, you can still wade through the river. Don’t be put off by the green color, the stuff is certainly completely harmless.
Underground Labs: There are a total of seven secret labs scattered around Caldera, marked in yellow on your map. Watch out, there is valuable loot and good cover here, but only one entrance at a time – so the facilities can easily become death traps.
Gameplay: What gameplay innovations are coming?
New vehicles: In Verdansk there were already motorcycles and armored trucks. Now they return with a WW2 touch, but according to the roadmap only for multiplayer. Instead, a special event with heavy transporters awaits you in Warzone, read more about it below.
New aircraft: The leaks were right, a new bomber is making the skies over Caldera unsafe in – Season 2. Especially exciting: These planes can destroy loadout drops and anti-aircraft guns! You can really spoil the day of your opponents with them. But beware of the smaller, more maneuverable planes that will target you.
Redeploy Balloons: You already know something similar from PUBG, now you can also let balloons carry you into the sky in Warzone. The Redeploy points can be seen flashing on the map. You hook up to a zipline, soar upwards, and then comfortably sail over the island with your parachute, just like jumping off to start a round. However, the balloons can be destroyed, which can cause you to have a rough crash.
By the way, an announced change to the loadouts caused a streamer to immortalize Raven Software’s logo on his butt:
Event: What’s behind Search & Deploy?
Here, too, the leaks were spot on: – Season 2 has a special event coming up that revolves around combat gas and truck convoys. The thickly armored vehicles roll unstoppably across the map, much like the Verdansk train. They transport Nebula V and shoot at any operator who gets too close.
Why should you mess with them anyway? Because a destroyed truck drops really valuable loot, sometimes even one of the new Nebula bombs that envelop an area in deadly gas for two minutes.
The future of Warzone: Just recently, several well-known and well-informed insiders claimed that CoD Warzone will surprisingly get a successor soon. According to them, Warzone 2 will be a game all its own. How many big changes will be made to the Battle Royale before that? We will keep you up to date.
New game modes: What else is coming?
Caldera Clash: Large team deathmatch on the Pacific map with 48 operators per side, in which you start with your custom loadout. Each kill earns your team points, and you should also keep an eye out for special events, such as double point zones.
Rebirth Iron Trials (During the – Season ): Again, the leaks were right, the popular hardcore Iron Trials mode returns during – Season 2. You have more lives, but you regenerate slower – at least that was the rules last time.
Caldera Resurgence (from March 23, 2022): We know this mode from before as well, but the patch notes talk about some changes. In any case, you should have a free choice of all weapons and operators.
Operators: These characters are new
In – Season 2 you can unlock three new operators:
- Anna Drake is automatically unlocked when you log in, i.e. at level 0 of the Battle Pass.
- Thomas Bolt is only available via Store Bundle
- Gustavo Dos Santos will also cost you CoD points if you want to unlock him
What’s new in CoD Vanguard?
– Season 2, of course, brings plenty of new additions to the multiplayer and zombie modes of the current main game. A quick overview:
- Two new maps: The medium sized Casablanca (Morocco) and the also medium sized Gondola map, where you can, well, ride a gondola.
- New Perks: Armory is the counter perk to Engineer, Mechanic provides a buff to field equipment.
- New Killstreak: Use the Ball Turret Gunner to fire at the map from the air for 30 seconds, dealing massive damage. Unlocked with 12 kills in a row and is correspondingly powerful.
- Zombies: New hub map, new arenas, a new artifact power and two “wonder weapons” – the neglected zombie mode gets more meat in – Season 2.
