The time has come, Call of Duty: Vanguard has been officially revealed. The reveal is finally accompanied by the really solid, official information about the content. The release date is also known now. Find out here what you can expect in multiplayer, single player and yes, even in the zombies mode of the new CoD from November 2021.

This is what many have been waiting for: the Reveal of the new Call of Duty 2021 called Vanguard just took place, numerous details were revealed and there was a Reveal trailer. The information should satisfy the first hunger of the fans for the time being and finally answer one or two burning questions officially. One of the most exciting questions is traditionally the release date – how long do we have to wait for the release?

The Call of Duty Vanguard release date: The new CoD Vanguard will be released on November 5, 2021.

Now that that’s cleared up: Below you will find the most important available info on CoD Vanguard summarized compactly. Here is a look at the campaign.

CoD Vanguard – General info

On which platforms will CoD Vanguard be released? Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released for the PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net.

CoD Vanguard pre-order and beta: All info about the pre-order bonuses, prices and editions as well as info about the pre-order access to the open beta of Vanguard can be found here: Call of Duty: Vanguard pre-order – editions, prices, pre-order bonuses, beta.

What about post-launch content? Vanguard, along with Warzone, also has a packed calendar of free post-launch content to offer, including.

  • new maps
  • new modes
  • new playlists
  • time limited events
  • – Season al events
  • Community Celebrations
  • and more

The focus in Battle Royale will then swing from Cold War to Vanguard, which should then share – Season s and Battle Pass. By the way, old cosmetic content from Cold War and Modern Warfare will remain in the game and also usable in the Warzone. Progress will also remain across the 3 main titles (Vanguard, Cold War, Modern Warfare), which will then be connected to each other by the Warzone. So you’ll be able to earn XP and level up the Battle Pass in all 4 games – even though the new content will probably be explicitly targeted at Vanguard and the Warzone.

Technical Details: The most important things in a nutshell: Vanguard is built on an upgraded engine from 2019’s CoD Modern Warfare. The gunplay is also very much based on Modern Warfare and builds on its system, but has been expanded and improved in numerous places.

For example, as in MW 2019, it is possible to reload the tactically while holding the shooting iron, you can lay the weapons on top (but now more generously) or even shoot blindly overhead from cover.

In addition, Vanguard offers more destructible environments than any CoD before. Tables (with everything on them), chairs, bookshelves, boarded-up windows – all of these can be generously destroyed by gunfire or explosions, providing more immersion and tactical options:

  • Books, apples, white bread, tomatoes, wine bottles fly through the area
  • Shot window covers, shelves, partitions or other furniture open up new fields of vision, fields of fire or even walkways, depending on the level of destruction, which also makes each match play a little differently, as the map is slightly different in each match due to the destruction.

The whole thing is nowhere near the level of Battlefield (you can’t break through stone walls or even entire buildings, or even raze them to the ground), but the destruction still looks cool and very immersive, and also has an impact on the gameplay.

Also interesting: Vanguard is supposed to run at 60 FPS on all consoles. The PC version is supposed to offer a completely optimized experience and is being developed by Beenox.

Note from the author: I was already allowed to see gameplay from Call of Duty: Vanguard. A single player mission was played, in which US paratroopers land in Normandy at night. And I have to say: visually, the game looks absolutely fantastic – not just by CoD standards, but in general. Shadows, fog, smoke, lighting effects – it all looks much better in Vanguard than in any other series installment before.

My personal highlight was an enemy German soldier moving behind a bed sheet hanging on a clothesline, and his silhouette was dynamically projected onto the piece of laundry blowing in the wind. Some scenes looked almost photorealistic, with some colleagues even incredulously asking if it was actually a live mission we were seeing and not a rendered cutscene.

In short: At least visually, all fans of Call of Duty on (a powerful) PC and the current console generation, i.e. Xbox Series X and PS5, can expect a real highlight.

By the way, I’m not the only one who thinks so, but so do many others who have already experienced the new CoD – for example, the well-known leaker Tom Henderson:

What is CoD Vanguard about anyway? As expected, the new CoD Vanguard is set in World War 2, but NOT in an alternate reality à la Wolfenstein as some leaks suggested. The game is historically inspired, but does not depict any real events or people of WW2.

Players go through the origins of military special forces as we know them today as part of the story. In multiplayer, players then become Special Forces operators themselves. A zombie experience is also on board.

CoD Vanguard – What the single player offers

The story of Vanguard: The campaign revolves around the birth of Special Forces. You experience it all through the eyes of a multinational group of soldiers as they make their way to Berlin as Task Force One.

The team, consisting of a Brit, a Russian, an American and an Australian – all playable characters – fight their way across the 4 most important and decisive battlefields of WW2:

  • Eastern Front
  • Western Front
  • Africa
  • Pacific

Ultimately, however, they are on their way to Berlin to sabotage a potentially war-deciding secret Nazi project led by fictional Gestapo leader Heinrich Freisinger.

CoD Vanguard – This is what the multiplayer offers

Traditional multiplayer: In MP you then play the Special Forces, whose creation you live through in the campaign.

The main pillars of classic multiplayer include:

  • Vanguard comes with a whopping 20 multiplayer maps right at launch. 16 of them are 6vs6 core maps, the remaining 4 are meant for a smaller format. That should satisfy most fans for now. Because the last time a CoD offshoot launched with 16 6vs6 maps was Modern Warfare 3 from 2011, so it’s going to be the biggest CoD in the last 10 years. Just for comparison: Black Ops Cold War started last year with a total of 8 maps.
  • New tactical gameplay: the popular Gunsmith feature from Modern Warfare is coming back, but with more options. For example, there will be custom ballistics and different ammo types and calibers. In addition, there are the so-called reactive environments, which enable an unprecedented level of destruction of the game environment.
  • Through this and completely new modes, new ways of playing should find their way into the game.
  • One of these modes is the special Champion Hill mode. According to the official Call of Duty blog, this is an evolution of the 2vs2 Gunfight mode from Modern Warfare. Champion Hill is meant to deliver fast-paced action in small squads, where 8 teams face off in a series of 2vs2 battles. The last team standing wins. More info to follow in a standalone multiplayer reveal

You decide how you want to experience Vanguard: In Vanguard multiplayer, there will be 3 different Combat Pacinngs (combat tempo – a kind of filter you choose), which will then decide how you experience the new CoD – depending on your individually preferred play style and pace. This is to offer a high degree of variety – preferably for every taste.

  • Blitz
    • In this casual-heavy, entertaining experience, you can expect a never-ending and highest possible number of players on a map, so you’ll always have someone in front of the barrel, there are hardly any limits – meaning pure chaos and non-stop action.
  • Tactical
    • The absolute opposite of Blitz – the intensity of the fight is the main focus here. You hit enemies less often, every bullet counts and is more deadly, everything is much more tactical. In principle, similar to Hardcore.
  • Standard
    • the previously known, normal way to play Call of Duty – not too chaotic, not too fast, not too slow/tactical.

Warzone: The in-house battle royale Warzone continues to act as a link between the major annual releases and will then tie together Vanguard, Cold War and Modern Warfare.

More in-depth details are available in this separate article: Warzone finally brings what everyone wants with CoD Vanguard – anti-cheat & new map.

CoD Vanguard – What we know about zombies

First Zombies crossover: CoD Vanguard will also feature a Zombies experience. The prologue to the story of Zombies in Black Ops Cold War will then be told as part of the popular mode.

The cool thing is that Treyarch, basically the “forefathers” of the zombie mode, are leading the development of the crossover and helping to tie the undead story of Vanguard to that of Cold War.

  • The goal is to create a cohesive, ongoing story – but also a brand new zombie experience with innovative developments in core gameplay
  • Traditionally, however, Vanguard Zombies will be about surviving a relentless onslaught of the undead.

What do you think of the new Call of Duty 2021 so far? Does Vanguard appeal to you, or does a World War II setting not appeal to you? Or are you only interested in the battle royale Warzone anyway? Let us and other readers of MeinMMO know in the comments.

Did you know that ……. ???

Armies Call of Duty – SDC

The Strategic Defense Coalition, or SDC for short, is a faction from Call of Duty: Black Ops II. It is based in the East of Asia and is made up of mostly Chinese military personnel. Depending on how the player behaves in the single-player campaign, Iran, Russia, India and Afghanistan can become members of the association. Alternatively, the SDC can join with the US and NATO to stop Raul Menendez.

Heroes Call of Duty –Davis (Black Ops)

Private Davis was an American Army helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War. In 1968, he was flying a helicopter that included Frank Woods and Alex Mason, but was shot down while flying over North Vietnam. When shot down, Davis died instantly, while his co-pilot was seriously injured. A Viet Cong then attacked the helicopter and killed the co-pilot as well.

Weapons Call of Duty-M60

The M60 is a light machine gun featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified, and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The M60 appears a few times in the campaign. The first time you get to operate it is in the Operation 40 mission when you use it to fire from a C-130 at a heavily besieged aircraft runway. In the mission SOG it is the starter weapon with a magazine extension. In the same mission, you can find many mounted versions of the weapon. At the end of the mission The Defector, there is an attached M60 on the battlefield. It is extremely powerful and, in the uncensored version, capable of ripping off enemy body parts. The last time it appears in Rebirth is when it is fired from a helicopter at attacking CIA agents.

Games Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a 2009 first-person shooter game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is the sixth installment in the Call of Duty series and the direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It was released worldwide on November 10, 2009, for Microsoft Windows, the PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. A separate version for the Nintendo DS, titled Modern Warfare: Mobilized, was also released on the same day. A version for macOS was developed by Aspyr and released in May 2014, and the Xbox 360 version was made backward compatible for the Xbox One in 2018.

Maps Call of Duty – Drive-In

Drive-In is a multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Black Ops that appeared with the Annihilation DLC. According to the developers, the layout is supposed to be similar to the small map Nuketown, which many players found fun because the layout is also small and there are some good places for snipers. In the alleys, the light machine guns and assault rifles are used more, and submachine guns and shotguns usually get the short end of the stick. The two famous places for snipers are the big screen and the red building, which are easy to get into because there are several entrances. However, you’d better have the extra hacker in your class when doing so. The map is small, so enemies sometimes come in whole groups. Therefore, it is best to stay mobile and always alert. Since the center is quite open, you can overlook most of the center from elevated positions and plunge unwary enemies straight to their deaths.

Camouflage Call of Duty-Dusty camouflage

Dusty looks like a worn, brown shade. This is what the SCAR-H looks like in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by default. She looks like a darker, more worn version of the golden camouflage . The camouflage usually does not look as dark brown as in the picture. Despite this, camouflage is not used most of the time because it is barely noticeable on most weapons, especially the Enfield.

Fraction Call of Duty NVA

The NVA, or Vietnam People’s Army, is an enemy faction in the campaign and multiplayer of Call of Duty: Black Ops .
