The second – Season of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone is postponed by almost two weeks to February 14, 2022. The developers justify this postponement with necessary optimizations and balancing adjustments and emphasize the importance of player feedback. However, the fans have mostly mocked Vanguard, at least on Twitter.
Developers commit to improving the game experience
The developers wrote in a blog post that they understand the frustration fans have felt in the community over the current problems of Call of Duty: Vanguard
, Warzone and Modern Warfare. Because further updates and improvements are necessary, the team has decided to postpone – Season 2. It goes on to say:“We will use the additional development time for further updates, including optimizations for gameplay, game balance (including for weapons and equipment), fixing stability issues and bugs. In general, we will make sure to polish and improve the experience for players at all levels, both for Vanguard, Warzone Pacific and Black Ops Cold War as well as Modern Warfare.
Upcoming implementations will take care of numerous concerns raised by the community, along with improvements for gameplay comfort. Adjustments to core gameplay loops, mechanics, and balance will be an ongoing and important focus. Bug fixes will be available for your platform of choice (2 console generations and the PC) and for general gameplay on all five systems.” The developers have not yet revealed how specifically these adjustments and balance improvements will look. However, they promise that more info will follow shortly.
Meanwhile, the community on Twitter is mocking Activision’s efforts. One user writes that the problems will stop on their own in a few years when the developers no longer have to worry about updates for the Playstation. Another player also mockingly refers to Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard. and writes:
“Oh, good, they’re already taking advice from Microsoft executives. Good, very good. I mean, who wouldn’t do what they’re told when they’re getting $68 billion.”
Overall, the reactions to the postponement are mainly resigned. Many players apparently do not believe that the developers can turn the tide again. One Twitter user, on the other hand, takes a pragmatic view and writes that the next Call of Duty will be released in nine months anyway.
