Meanwhile, with every new Call of Duty, new field upgrades are introduced. We already know about these.
Modern Warfare was finally unveiled. There were a lot of new features to see and some quite surprising ones. In this article we will focus on the new gadgets and modes.
These field upgrades are new
As usual, content creators were invited to a Reveal event. And what they tell us seems to be quite interesting after all. JackFrags for example, has made a detailed video about the content shown.
Below are the new gadgets that you can use to defeat your enemies.
Tactical camera
Have you ever Rainbow Six Siege played? Then the tactical camera will surely look familiar to you. Just like in the turn-based first-person shooter, you can throw the camera at walls and other surfaces. You’ll then be able to monitor certain areas from a safe distance. Players should have the option to distribute several cameras and then mark everything that runs in front of the lens.
Drill Charge
And while we’re at it: In R6 Siege, there’s a cool gadget that fires a grenade through the wall. Whereas in Siege it’s several grenades that bombard the entire room – including the potential hostages to be rescued.
It’s supposed to be similar in Modern Warfare 2. Only here, apparently, you can also pin such a charge to a vehicle and obliterate the interior. Very effective against people, not so strong against the vehicle itself.
DDOS
A new name for an old acquaintance. The DDOS is simply an EMP that causes everything electronic nearby to fail. What’s interesting here, however, is that much like Zero’s Ultimate ability from Black Ops 4, certain devices can be selected and turned off. And any vehicle that fails due to the DDOS must be restarted by the driver popping up a button combination.
Inflatable decoy
The last gadget is an inflatable soldier, which is supposed to confuse enemies and make them betray themselves. Placed on the ground, the thing suddenly inflates as soon as an enemy is nearby. Of course, a player can also place this inflated somewhere. Again, what’s interesting is that buddy bubble adapts to its environment. It lays down in tight places, crawls when the ceiling hangs low, and even imitates a swimming soldier when abandoned in water.
Two new modes
The new game in the Call of Duty universe also brings two new modes.
Knockout
Entirely dedicated to the cartel setting, this is about holding a pack. There are 12 players fighting in 2 teams. There are no respawns but you can pick up your teammate if your opponent hasn’t finished him off yet. Whoever still has the package in their hands at the end wins the round.
Prisoner Rescue
Apparently Modern Warfare 2 takes a big cue from R6 Siege, because this mode is the classic hostage rescue. The attackers must search for and rescue the hostage, while the defenders must “protect” them from the invaders. To do this, walls and doors can be broken down. The winner is the one who wiped out the other team or if the objectives were fulfilled. If the hostage dies, both teams lose.
