CoD: Modern Warfare uses the daily news for small info blogs about the maps, weapons or even gadgets, but has now somehow not properly considered the mood of the community in two entries.

Daily news recommend unpopular ways of playing

What are the developers recommending? It is about specifically two news of the last days. One of them about the map “Euphrates Bridge” and one is about the Claymore mines. Here are the corresponding excerpts from the daily news.

Euphrates Bridge

• Bombed houses, destroyed buses and the dilapidated bridge offer seemingly endless places to hide to hide.

Use a claymore

• Is delayed gratification your thing? Then put a claymore in your equipment slot. These explosive mines are activated activated when approached. Place a claymore at the targets, near the enemy spawn zones or at popular sniper spots.

The developers are thus recommending exactly the gameplay that is currently being demonized by so many CoD soldiers and are thus trolling their community.

The only thing missing is a recommendation for long-range shotguns, which are also currently the subject of much criticism.

Call for camping meets with incomprehension

What do the CoD soldiers think? The reactions found to this are mostly very negative. Players partly can’t understand why developers decide to push such unloved gameplay in this rather direct way.

I find it funny that the developers, despite the headwinds, still don’t do anything about the campers and now they also troll the players with these pop-ups and encourage people to do the things most people are sick of (like claymores and bridges campers).

They talk about it like it’s a good thing, no wonder the game is in such a state. LoL

Others were already expecting something along these lines, and think that the new maps and multiplayer were designed with this style of gameplay in mind from the start.

Well, keep in mind that this game was made especially for beginners and campers. So I’m not surprised.

But voices are also coming from the other direction: There are also players who support this style and communicate, often in a rather rude way, that the whining of other players gets on their nerves.

Play as you like, but also use known advantages

Should I go camping now too? This question is up to each person. However, style adaptations to the current meta, i.e. the most efficient play style, of a multiplayer title are often part of the repetition of successful players.

You don’t have to spend the whole round tactically waiting. However, playstyles, weapons, or gadgets that you find most objectionable are often worth trying on your own. Don’t wait too long though, strong play styles are quickly defused.

With the new map structure, without the three lanes, tactics have also changed and in some cases, a more cautious approach may be the better choice.

However, if you don’t want to be convinced by claymores or camp tactics at all, hunt down the players who have already set up a campfire in the darkest corner of the map.
