In Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 you can expect many cool new maps for the release, on which you will fight your PvP battles. To let you know what to expect, we show you all the confirmed and leaked maps.
How many maps will there be in CoD MW 2? So far, Activision has been silent about the complete number of maps you’ll find in the final game. After the CDL Champs, a secret test event and a trailer, players have already been able to confirm five maps that you will surely find in the game. These are:
- 6v6 Maps
- Grand Prix – A Formula 1 style race track
- Farm 18 – A cement factory with many cover options
- Museum – A complex map with different color elements
- Battle maps
- Sariff Bay – A sprawling fishing village with open environments
- Sa’id – A map specialized in fights in houses
However, leakers and dataminers have also been digging through CoD: Modern Warfare’s data and have picked out various load screens and other codenames for possible maps. These don’t necessarily have to be implemented in MW2, but they do have a strong connection to the old spin-off from 2009.
Here we show you a taste of the Grand Prix map you can expect:
All leaked maps for Modern Warfare 2 in the overview
Additionally, we list all known map leaks for Modern Warfare 2. These are to be taken with a grain of salt, as nothing has been confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward. The following map names were pulled from the data:
- Oilfield
- Fishtown
- Hydro
- SABA
- Sira
In addition, there were more than 30 map data related to MW2. These are:

The five leaked maps even had loading screens, which were published on the website “imgur”. However, these links are no longer up to date and were probably deleted by the leaker himself. The responsible dataminer “orange man”, who dug up most of the map names, was also banned on Twitter for copyright violations .
However, the release of Modern Warfare 2 is not far off. Players will soon be able to play the beta and get an accurate picture of what maps and content they might get in the final game.
