CoD Black Ops: Cold War

The developers of CoD Black Ops: Cold War present the first missions of the campaign.

With Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, a new single-player campaign awaits us from November 13. How this starts, the developer Treyarch has now revealed. They tell you what happens in the first three missions.

Attention! Spoilers follow here!

  • The first mission is titled “Nowhere Left to Run. In it you’ll meet Woods and Mason and the newcomer Russel Adler in a bar in Amsterdam. The action takes place at the beginning of 1981 and you learn that you must go on the trail of the spy Perseus.

  • In “Fractured Jaw” you’ll experience a flashback that takes place during the Vietnam War. You will learn more about who Perseus is and what he is capable of.

  • “Desperate Measures” lets you infiltrate a KGB headquarters. To do this, you’ll have to pose as a Soviet double agent.

These three missions are the start of the Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War campaign. You can also see that the action keeps jumping back and forth in time.

Dan Vondrak, senior creative director at Raven Software, explains:

“We’re big fans of the original Black Ops, and our goal was to bring back the iconic trio of Woods, Mason and Hudson – but to do so in a way that didn’t require any prior experience with the series. We also felt it was important to introduce some new characters so we could explore their personalities and relationships to the classic characters – that way both new and old players get something new.”

“By approaching the story in this way, we can slowly make connections and references to Black Ops that fans will appreciate as much as we do, but won’t be a flood of new information for new players all at once.”

Are you guys looking forward to the release of CoD Black Ops: Cold War? Is the campaign more important to you or the multiplayer mode?
