ScandiBet sports betting experience – test & review
Bonus & VIP Offer
Welcome bonus
Let’s move on to one of the most important topics for any sportsbook and its customers, namely the welcome bonus and all other bonus offers. ScandiBet was originally known for a solid new customer bonus and also promised its loyal customers other ScandiBet bonus offers, but with the relaunch of the company and its website, things have changed.
Due to the fact that ScandiBet is now a pay-n-play company, you will not be offered any bonus offers for your first deposit. Neither can you receive a bonus on your deposit nor will you be granted a free bet or odds boost. From my personal point of view, this is hardly comprehensible, even though I can of course understand that they have taken a completely different route.
Nevertheless, I naturally asked the customer service if there could be a new customer bonus in the future. The answer I received from customer service unfortunately did not fully satisfy me. Currently, at least no major changes to the ScandiBet bonus are planned. In the future, however, all options will be left open.
VIP & Loyalty Program
Due to the lack of a new customer bonus, I had at least faint hopes for a clear reward principle in the form of a VIP and loyalty program during my ScandiBet test phase. After just a few days, however, my faint hopes were immediately nipped in the bud. There are no notes or references to a loyalty program on the website, nor can ScandiBet customer service help you in this regard. Currently, ScandiBet is not focused on offering an attractive bonus. With the step towards becoming a Pay-N-Play provider, they have also taken a step away from a rewarding bonus program. On the one hand, this is understandable, but on the other hand, it is certainly a reason for many of you to stay away from ScandiBet.
Betting offer
Now I would like to share my ScandiBet experience with the betting offer of the bookmaker from Northern Europe. Understandably, my expectations were rather depressed after the rather cautious start due to the lack of bonus offers at ScandiBet, but in principle, the betting offer of the bookmaker could satisfy me in my ScandiBet review.
In total, you can choose from at least 28 different betting markets and sports at ScandiBet. In my experience, this number is absolutely okay, especially considering that ScandiBet does not artificially inflate its betting program and subdivides it into the smallest betting markets.
As it should be for a European-based company, the focus of the betting selection is on soccer and other team and ball sports popular in Europe. For all soccer fans among you, this means that you can place bets on the games of the three highest German divisions and also bet on the DFB Cup. With this selection, ScandiBet ranks rather in the midfield among sports betting providers, some Regionalliga or Oberliga games would have been desirable from my point of view.
Basically, the problem with the betting offer is, in my view, more in the depth and the additional betting options. Normally, you should be used to the fact that you could place at least 200 to 250 additional bets on the top matches in Europe, depending on the course of the game. At ScandiBet, this selection is unfortunately a bit more limited. For example, if you take a look at the current match day of the Bundesliga, you will see that the number of additional betting options is a maximum of 125. To my mind, this is clearly too few, especially since this value slides down even further in less popular betting markets.
In addition to the soccer betting market, sports such as tennis, basketball or ice hockey are among the largest and most popular sports markets at ScandiBet. In addition to the classic bets on the match outcome, ScandiBet also tries to make its other betting markets more interesting with daily updated and exciting special bets. For example, long-term bets on player transfers or predictions on the NBA or NFL Draft are offered. Personally, I think very highly of these bets, especially if you are a big fan of the transfer phase in Europe and follow the current rumors with excitement.
In order for ScandiBet to appeal to the next generation, they have also ventured into e-sports with the relaunch of the website. Currently, ScandiBet offers you up to five different game titles, including Counter-Strike and League of Legends, among others. The additional betting options are acceptable, although not comparable to those of bookmakers specializing in e-sports.
Live bets
In addition to the regular betting offer, ScandiBet naturally also provides you with an appealing selection of live bets. However, you won’t notice any big differences between the regular betting program, as the action is clearly dominated by soccer here as well. However, I noticed the same problems in terms of betting depth with the live bets that I mentioned earlier.
ScandiBet makes you wait about six seconds when placing live bets in my test, until the bet was marked as “accepted”.
Extremely strong ScandiBet presents its live betting. Not only is the presentation free of annoying loading times, but changes to the betting odds are also made visible quickly and are therefore not too obstructive when placing the bet slip.
Very impressive is the presentation of the match history and all the statistics offered for the matches/events. Since you have to do without live streams at ScandiBet, you have to rely on good and, above all, sensibly selected statistics. And the Scandinavian bookmaker can guarantee this without any restrictions for various sports! The selection and topicality of statistics for soccer or basketball is so detailed and up-to-date that you will hardly miss a live stream. Especially games of the NBA are presented outstandingly by ScandiBet, so that you can see exactly how the game has developed during the four quarters.
Quotes & Betting Features
Quotes
Although ScandiBet cannot fully shine with its betting selection in my review, the bookmaker’s betting odds are absolutely first-class and one of the decisive reasons why you should at least be interested in the project. In the betting provider comparison, the betting odds at ScandiBet are extremely high. Would you like to see an example? To show you in more detail how high the betting odds are, I took the current matchday of the Premier League as a prime example and was able to determine the following odds key based on ten games:
98,47 / 98,50 / 97,97 / 97,63 / 98,02 / 98,18 / 97,28 / 97,40 / 97,62 / 98,09 = 97,92 %
A payout key of almost 98 percent is extremely strong and can without question place itself in the top groups among the top betting odds of sports betting providers. However, you should keep in mind that ScandiBet does not pay the betting tax in Germany itself, but passes it on to you per betting slip. For this reason, the extremely high odds are somewhat depressed, but from my point of view they are still very lucrative.
Betting Features
The fact that things are a bit different for a pay-n-play provider can also be seen in the betting features at ScandiBet. Normally, a sports betting provider should offer a cashout in this day and age, but this is currently not the case at ScandiBet. When asked, customer service confirmed that this is due to the innovative payment method with Trustly and the resulting lack of a customer account. Currently, they are still looking for ways to change this in the future. However, you still have to make do without a cashout function at ScandiBet.
Deposits & Withdrawals
Deposits
The easiest part of my ScandiBet review is the available payment options for deposits and withdrawals. While you can use different e-wallets and classic payment methods at other sports betting providers, ScandiBet only offers one payment method – Trustly. With Trustly, you can make all your deposits and withdrawals immediately and free of any fees, as well as complete the registration process at the same time. All deposits via Trustly are possible between 20 and 100,000 euros. Withdrawals, on the other hand, must be at least 30 Euros, with the maximum amount also being set at 100,000 Euros.
In the event that you have accumulated winnings of over 100,000 euros in your account, you can also request a staggered payout from customer service. Accordingly, monthly tranches of 10,000 euros would be transferred to your desired account via Trustly. Of course, this is also free of any fees.
The big advantage of a Pay-N-Play provider, however, is the simple and uncomplicated verification procedure. While with other companies you have to wait up to 72 hours for your documents to be checked and, if necessary, even submit additional documents to prove your identity, this happens automatically in the background at ScandiBet through Trustly. All of your winnings can be paid out immediately within a few seconds.
However, before you decide to use ScandiBet, you should first check whether your bank is supported by Trustly. If this is not the case, Trustly and therefore ScandiBet would not be an option for you.
My experience with the first deposit and withdrawal
Also at ScandiBet I have taken a look at the individual administrative steps for you. In doing so, I have mainly looked at deposit and withdrawal in more detail, since a bonus activation is not possible.
As a Pay-N-Play customer you do not need to create an account. So you can start right away.
The deposit is easily possible via Trustly. I decided to make a deposit via Trustly in the amount of 30 euros. The money was credited to me without any problems.
As is well known, there is no bonus at ScandiBet.
Withdrawals
The payout is then very simple via the already saved payment data. Before you can make the withdrawal, you must enter a 4-digit code. You will receive the code via SMS to your phone number. Only then can you initiate the payout, which I did of course.
ScandiBet sports betting experience – test & rating 2022
The money was immediately returned to my account. Apart from the missing bonus, I had a very good experience with the payment processing at ScandiBet.
Reputation & Security
If a bookmaker wants to conquer a new market, bettors must of course make sure beforehand that it is a reputable provider. With ScandiBet, there is absolutely no doubt about this, as even a brief research shows.
ScandiBet is operated by Manisol Gaming Limited in Malta. The website is regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). Along with the gambling authority in Gibraltar, the MGA (Malta Gaming Authority) is one of the leading bodies in Europe and stands for absolute security and trust.
In the course of the relaunch, the new EU license for ScandiBet was issued on August 1, 2018. Thanks to the strict requirements of the gambling authority in Malta, ScandiBet guarantees you smooth transactions via Trustly, which are protected with a special SSL encryption technology. All the data you transmit is thus not only protected by Trustly’s security system, but at the same time secured thanks to ScandiBet’s encrypted data transmission.
Part of a coherent security concept must also be responsible gaming and a serious approach to the issue of gambling addiction. ScandiBet is aware of this responsibility and has linked two organizations on its website that are among the most trustworthy independent support organizations in this area: Gambling Therapy and Gamblers Anonymous.
However, a small problem that can be explained due to the lack of registration and thus the lack of a customer account is the lack of limit options. Unfortunately, you can only set your deposit amounts via your online banking, another mechanism is unfortunately not visible at ScandiBet.
Service & Support
I was somewhat disappointed by the company’s customer service during my review of ScandiBet. My criticism is not so much directed at the quality of the employee team, but rather at the availability of the service. Unfortunately, the customer support is only available between 08:30 and 0:30 German time.
I first tested ScandiBet’s customer service in the live chat. You can start the live chat in the upper area of the website via the headphones button. In the next window, click on the green live chat button and then enter your name, email address and personal request. About 60 to 120 seconds later you will be connected to a free employee. According to my ScandiBet experience, the employees in the live chat are well trained and can answer all inquiries specifically and without major language problems. I also got a similar impression from the customer support via mail. All my questions were answered within 24 hours, normally even within 12 hours. Personally, I liked that the employees find a very clear choice of words and the answers are short and concise.
Negatively, however, I must clearly state that the FAQ is unfortunately not clearly marked and is hidden within the customer service. In addition, the FAQ is somewhat confusing, as questions that refer to possible bonus offers can still be found here frequently. So, during the relaunch, ScandiBet did not fully update its FAQ.
I also miss a hotline. Even if it were only an English-language hotline, this would be absolutely necessary for a pay-n-play provider in my view. For these two reasons, I therefore have to give ScandiBet’s customer service a few deductions in the rating. This could be better in any case.
Functions & Design
At this point, I would like to praise the website and the design of the Scandinavian sports betting provider. What seemed rather meager and somewhat monotonous a few years ago, now looks very fresh and clearly structured after the new start of the betting provider.
Matching the two main markets, the company’s website was kept in a blue tone. ScandiBet classically uses a 3-column website, which can clearly display everything important about the available betting markets and betting odds in the middle. You will thus have no problems at all finding your desired bets, even though it would certainly have been an advantage if ScandiBet had integrated an individual favorites filter. However, this is not possible as no registration is required and thus no individual adjustments can be saved.
Basically, however, the lack of registration has a rather positive effect on the website. Thanks to the lack of a customer account and the significantly lower accumulation of data, the loading times turn out to be low, which has a very positive effect especially on live betting.
The only point of criticism from me would be the small translation errors that run right through the betting offer. Likewise, some of you might find the creatively created crests of European soccer clubs a thorn in the eye. Normally, sports betting providers should refrain from using graphics or crests if they do not have the official license, in my opinion.
ScandiBet’s website is presented in English, Swedish and Finnish in addition to the German language. More languages will be added in the near future, according to the customer service.
Mobile App
To make your gaming experience on smartphones and tablets as smooth and fluid as possible, ScandiBet has opted for a simple solution for its mobile offering. Instead of a native app for Android and iOS, ScandiBet provides its mobile betting program via a modified website. During my test phase, I could not identify any serious problems.
In order to use the mobile betting offer, you simply have to open the regular website in your mobile browser. You will then be redirected to the modified website, which is simply the regular website, but compressed for the mobile view. Accordingly, you can use all the conventional features of the website on your mobile device. Among other things, the entire betting offer can be used and of course all transactions can be completed via Trustly mobile. Personally, I prefer to carry out my transactions via the PC, but I could not detect any problems with my mobile deposits and withdrawals on the smartphone at ScandiBet.
Since I’m aware that many of you prefer a sportsbook with a native app, I naturally asked customer support if an app for iOS and/or Android would be developed in the future. Unfortunately, this was denied by customer support in the live chat. Currently, a change to ScandiBet’s mobile betting offer is not planned.
Other Offers
To conclude my ScandiBet review, I would like to briefly draw attention to the original core business of ScandiBet. This is namely not the sports betting, but rather the ScandiBet Casino. The online casino of ScandiBet is decorated with seven different providers and can thus offer you a game selection of more than 1,000 slots. Since the providers are top brands such as Net Entertainment, Evolution Gaming or Microgaming, among others, you can be sure that the selection of games is also attractive and lucrative slots. Some of the most popular games at the moment, such as Narcos or Twin Spin, are also available, as well as absolute casino classics from NetEnt.
ScandiBet’s online casino is very clearly structured and did not seem overloaded to me at all. Thanks to various filters, you can find your personal favorites within a few seconds and also filter the game selection individually by desired provider.
In addition to the online casino, ScandiBet also offers you an exclusive live casino. This is mainly operated by Evolution Gaming, which is why my ScandiBet experiences here are all positive. Neither did I have longer delays or even game cancellations, nor were there any other sound or image problems during the transmissions.
To my personal delight, ScandiBet’s live casino also offers the currently best and most innovative game shows. Be it Deal or No Deal or the Live Football Studio, the game shows bring a new element to every live casino from my point of view and thus freshen up the rather long-winded game offerings in some places.
However, it is a bit of a shame that ScandiBet has not been able to update its bonus program for its online casino either. I also missed a cashback on your possible losses. At least – according to the customer service – they will make slight optimizations to the bonus program in the near future and at least reward active customers for their constant commitment.
