Bonus & VIP Offer
Welcome bonus
New customers (but only users from Austria and Switzerland) can benefit from a welcome bonus for sports betting at FanTeam. You will receive a 150% bonus up to 30 euros on your first deposit.
As you can see in our betting bonus comparison, other bookmakers offer much higher bonuses to new customers. However, deposits are only doubled at most competitors. If you want to secure a bonus credit, you must deposit at least 10 euros.
If you are looking for the maximum FanTeam bonus, you should transfer 20 euros. In any case, don’t forget to enter the bonus code WELCOME150 when making your deposit.
You can only withdraw the bonus and the winnings generated with it after you have fulfilled the bonus conditions. The bookmaker has set a 4x turnover target that you can work off in 30 days. Fortunately, the turnover requirement only applies to the bonus balance received. For example, if the bookie pays you 30 euros bonus, a turnover target of 120 euros (30 euros x 4) applies. You should note that only bets with a minimum odds of 2.0 contribute to the turnover.
VIP & Loyalty Program
The betting provider currently does not offer a VIP club or a loyalty points program. For users who also want to place sports bets here, this is a minus point.
Nevertheless, existing customers also have the opportunity to benefit from bonus offers. For example, you can recommend the platform to friends and earn a 20-euro ticket for the weekly 100,000-euro tournament per registration. In addition, it is possible to participate in a tournament with a prize pool of at least 100 euros every week for free.
Betting offer
First of all, bad news for bettors from the Federal Republic of Germany: If you live in Germany, you cannot place bets at FanTeam. The Sportsbook (the betting area) is displayed on the homepage during your first visit, but once you have registered, you can only access the Fantasy Sport portfolio.
For our readers from Austria and Switzerland, we would still like to briefly go into the sports betting offer. You should not expect too much, because the focus of FanTeam is clearly on Fantasy Sport. If you still want to place bets here, there are only about ten sports available for betting.
The betting offer includes the following sports:
Soccer
Ice hockey
Basketball
Tennis
American football
Baseball
eSports
Thus, the bookie is by no means competitive. This is also reflected in the number of matches and events offered, which is significantly lower than at regular bookmakers.
At the time of our test, only about 20 leagues were offered for soccer. The top European leagues are at the start, but the portfolio usually only includes the highest division of a country.
For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that bets on international competitions such as the Champions League are also possible. The rest of the available leagues can be counted on one hand.
Significantly fewer betting options than with other bookmakers
FanTeam cannot compete with well-positioned bookies in terms of the number of betting markets either. While up to 100 betting options are available for soccer, depending on the match, only 20 to 30 options can usually be found for the other disciplines.
According to our FanTeam experiences, at least the most important standards – such as three-way bets, double chance, handicap bets and over/under bets – are available. However, we did find one interesting feature: You can bet on how many fantasy points (more on that later) a player will receive in a match.
eSports and other special bets
In the area of eSports betting, the picture is similar to the rest of the betting offer. Currently, only bets on CS:GO are possible. I could not find a category for social or political betting, nor a section for virtual betting. We can’t really criticize this, as the provider has focused its portfolio mainly on Daily Fantasy Sport.
Daily Fantasy Sport
One or the other user will now wonder what is meant by Daily Fantasy Sport at all. Daily Fantasy Sport means that FanTeam offers daily Fantasy Sport tournaments where you compete against other users. In such a competition you have to put together a team with players from different teams.
If a match then takes place in reality with one of the players, that player will receive points for various actions, such as scoring a goal or spending a certain amount of time on the pitch. The goal is to collect as many fantasy points as possible with your own team.
You can usually find more than 300 tournaments at the provider. In addition to official competitions, there is also the option to compete in a heads-up against just one other user.
The highlight is definitely the Premier League tournament. This runs over a complete – Season and the prize pool is one million euros. Whoever takes first place at the end receives 200,000 euros. The buy-in for a team is 25 euros. However, you can also put together multiple teams – which, by the way, also applies to other tournaments. However, most competitions only run for one match day.
The size of the prize pool depends on both the tournament and the buy-in. In many cases, there are several options: For example, it happens that buy-ins of 2.20 euros and 200 euros are offered for the same tournament. Logically, the higher the amount invested at the beginning, the more money you can win.
In addition, so-called player matchups are possible. FanTeam gives you two players and you have to decide which one will collect more points on the next matchday. If you choose ten matchups and are right, you will receive 500 times your stake as a prize.
Live bets
If you want to place live bets, you are at the wrong address at FanTeam. This shows once again that the provider is not focused on sports betting. Unfortunately, bets on matches that have already started are not possible here.
However, it should be mentioned that you can find one or the other live stream under the menu item “Live Results”. Although only eSports events are broadcast, this is by no means a matter of course.
We also noticed the useful statistics – both for betting events and for fantasy sports.
Quotes & Betting Features
Quotes
Even though most will try this fantasy sports provider, we would like to take a look at the payout odds for the pure sports betting enthusiasts. To ensure that individual outliers do not distort the picture, we have analyzed ten randomly selected betting markets. The calculated betting odds are listed below.
94,98 / 95,03 / 95,21 / 94,86 / 94,77 / 95,01 / 95,10 / 95,03 / 94,92 / 95,05
This results in an average payout ratio of 95 percent – a really good value. The profit margin of the betting provider is only 5 percent. In the fantasy tournaments, on the other hand, between 10 and 15 percent of the stakes go to FanTeam.
How esport.directory.net calculates the odds
In order to understand how the odds are calculated, we have selected the Bundesliga match VfB Stuttgart vs. 1. FC Köln (by the way, the only Bundesliga match currently offered). The following list shows which odds the bookie offers you:
Odds win Bielefeld: 2,03
Odds draw: 3,65
Munich win odds: 3,50
odds of the match = 1 / (1 / 2.03 + 1 / 3.65 + 1 / 3.50) = 0.9503
This results in a betting odds of 95.03 percent.
Betting Features
Probably the best known betting feature is the cashout option. This allows bettors to close a bet before the corresponding game is over. As a result, the feature can be used to take profits and limit losses.
Unfortunately, there is no cashout function available at FanTeam. The same applies to a bet configurator.
Deposits & Withdrawals
Deposits
The FanTeam test showed that the betting provider offers its customers a successful selection of payment options. Regardless of which transaction method you choose, the minimum deposit amount is 10 euros.
You can use the following methods for deposits:
Credit card (up to €10,000 per transaction), Visa and Mastercard payment cards are allowed.
ecoPayz (up to 10.000 € per transaction), virtual wallet (e-wallet)
NETELLER (up to 10,000 € per transaction), another representative from the e-wallet sector
paysafecard (up to 1,000 € per transaction), prepaid payment card with 16-digit code
Skrill (up to 10.000 € per transaction), another popular e-wallet
Trustly (up to €10,000 per transaction), a popular direct booking system.
What is annoying, however, is that the provider charges a fee of 10 percent on deposits made with paysafecard. So better use another payment method. The question of betting tax is logically omitted here, since users from Germany cannot access sports betting.
Withdrawals
To ensure that everything went smoothly during the payout, we immediately started the KYC process, i.e. the verification of the data. On the 20th of the month, they were uploaded to the designated tool. However, it would then take until the 23rd (!) of the same month for the data to be verified. A big minus point, we have never experienced such a long waiting time and we have already tested many casinos.
We could not have guessed that on the first day. So we simply tipped three player duels in the Fantasy Sport section. Unfortunately, these were lost.
Then the next bitter damper; the withdrawal cost 5 euros fees. Disproportionately much for a Skrill transaction. Nevertheless, we made the withdrawal and the money was in the account on the same day.
Due to the very high transaction fees and the long wait for verified documents, we cannot draw a good conclusion of the real money test.
Reputation & Security
You can rest assured that FanTeam is a reputable company.
The platform holds a Maltese gambling license (license number: MGA/B2C/368/2017), which was issued in August 2018. Moreover, the user reviews in player forums are very positive. We have not noticed any negative comments.
What also speaks for FanTeam is that the website has been online for numerous years.
As for the operator of the brand – Scout & Co. – unfortunately, only a little information could be found. FanTeam seems to be the only brand of the Malta-based company so far.
Another indication of the seriousness of the betting provider are its sponsoring activities. After all, FanTeam cooperates with the English first division club FC Fulham. Logically, larger soccer clubs pay close attention to whom they enter into partnerships with.
When it comes to player protection, the bookie definitely met our expectations. You can set a weekly and monthly betting and loss limit. You also have the option to use a voluntary self-exclusion.
There is also nothing to complain about when it comes to data protection. Data is always encrypted before it is transferred. The provider uses the TSL protocol (successor to SSL) for this purpose.
Service & Support
You can reach FanTeam’s customer service daily from 10 a.m. to midnight via live chat and e-mail. There is no hotline. To reach an employee, you usually only have to wait a minute in the live chat.
The betting provider gets plus points for the fact that the employees are always friendly and take enough time for your questions.
However, the impression is clouded by the fact that there is no German-language support. You can talk to the chat agents in German if necessary, but in this case, translation software is used.
In addition, there is a FAQ page that already answers one or the other question. Since FanTeam has not translated the section into German, you will have to make do with English at this point.
Functions & Design
The FanTeam website is no feast for the eyes, but it can still be described as a modern platform. On the positive side, the provider has fortunately refrained from using garish colors. Instead, mainly gray and dark green are used. In addition, FanTeam has also made sure that all fonts are easily recognizable.
We also liked the fact that the bookmaker provides a German-language website version for its customers from the Federal Republic, Austria and Switzerland.
Here, however, FanTeam has been quite sloppy: Numerous parts of the site have not been translated. This applies, for example, to the menu items, but also to all information pages. One exception is the terms and conditions, which are displayed in German.
The platform also offers English, Russian, Spanish and Estonian as further language options.
Thanks to the clear structure of the website, you can quickly find your way around the platform. If you click on the “Games” tab, you will be shown the fantasy sports tournaments. If you click on Live Results, you can see how points are awarded in the various matches.
On the other hand, you have the option to watch eSports livestreams here. In the sports betting section, there are three entries in total. Besides a section for popular matches, there is the option to view all leagues and long-term bets.
Another positive feature is that the betting slip is pinned, so it moves along with the scrolling.
Mobile App
Mobile devices can also be used to participate in fantasy sports tournaments and place bets. However, you will not find a native application at this provider, because FanTeam has optimized its website for mobile users.
As a result, you don’t have to download an app first. Compatibility problems are therefore not to be expected, as you can access the mobile offer via your browser.
As befits a modern platform, the web app includes a fold-out menu that you can use to navigate the site. According to our FanTeam experience, the mobile platform offers all the features you know from the desktop site.
You can also create a user account, deposit money, and of course participate in tournaments and bet using a smartphone or tablet. It is also possible to claim bonus offers and contact support.
Other Offers
