What is this glitch? The glitch with the Aim-Assist first appeared in CoD Vanguard. There, the Aim Assist triggered on controllers even when enemies were not fully visible, for example when they moved behind walls.

That was bad, for one thing, because it was sort of an implemented wallhack. And then there was the fact that the Assist thus partially jumped away from much closer enemies to pursue enemies that were not visible at all. Those who relied on the assistant to make kills with the controller often had to deal with bizarre deviations.

The glitch is not limited to Vanguard, however, where it has since been fixed in – Season 2 Reloaded, but apparently also appears in CoD Warzone.

Cause for Glicht known, developers hope for quick solution

What is the cause of the glitch? According to the developers at Sledgehammer, who are working on Vanguard, the glitch is related to the so-called “Visibility Line”. This is the line that the game uses to determine the visibility of a game object.

The Aim Assist should only trigger if this line is clear and uninterrupted. Apparently this is not the case and therefore these annoying glitches occur.

When can we expect a solution? According to a tweet from the developers of Raven Software – the guardians of the Warzone – the experience of Sledgehammer will be used to solve the problem with the Aim Assist lights in the Warzone as well.

What are the users saying? Admittedly, the glitch and the not-yet-fix come at an inopportune time. After all, there was a well-liked Warzone update recently and players are understandably annoyed by such a glitch:

• “Fix your game please. The new SMG has no firing sound when using the silencer and the Mind Games challenge doesn’t work.”
• “Guys! How is it possible that a AAA game from a multi-million dollar company like yours is permanently a construction site where you ‘find’ and fix problems that every casual gamer has known about for months?”
• “I’ve thought that many times. Just last night I couldn’t play at all because it was unplayable without Aim Assist. I thought it was just me. At least 2 times a week this happens.”
