Warzone 2

Publisher Activision was quick to recognize that battle royale games are all the rage, at least since the huge success of Fortnite, and made its own contribution to the genre’s success story with Warzone. Since its release in March 2020, the game has enjoyed steadily increasing popularity. However, the truth is also that there were repeated problems with the game, which limited the gaming fun at times. Now it has been confirmed that Activision will follow up with a new part to hopefully put an end to these problems. It should be noted, however, that it has not yet been confirmed whether the title of the game will actually be Warzone 2. Nevertheless, it is supposed to be a continuation of the first part.

New features

Even though many things are still in the dark, some features have already been announced that the new game will be equipped with. The announcement of a sandbox mode, for example, should cause particular joy. This means that players will be able to create their own game lobbies, in which they can play with other players according to their own rules. However, it is not yet known which customization options will be offered.

Improved engine

In addition to new features, there will also be fundamental changes to the game structure, which will distinguish Warzone 2 from the first part. After the release of Warzone, there were always problems with the gameplay. To remedy this, Activision is also relying on a new engine for the new spin-off, which is supposed to be completely new.

Another interesting change could possibly be the expansion of the FoV settings on the consoles. Until now, you could only adjust the field of view in detail on the PC and set it according to your own preferences. With Warzone 2 this possibility should also be given on the consoles.

Modern Warfare 2

In addition to the Battle Royale offshoot of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2 is also said to be a title in the regular game series waiting in the wings. The Modern Warfare series is considered one of the absolute classics and the flagship of CoD games. The first part was released back in 2007 under the name of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Two more parts followed until 2011, before it was quiet for a long time around the game series. Then in 2019, the first reboot was launched, which came along with a completely new storyline. Now the second part of the reboot series is coming. Modern Warfare 2 is supposed to be a direct successor to the 2019 part.

The game is being produced by the development studio Infinity Ward. However, there is still very little official information about it. So far, all assumptions and rumors come from the circles of industry insiders and leaks.

The topic

According to CoD insider Tom Henderson, who is very well known in the scene, the game will be set in a modern scenario. The theme is supposed to be about the drug war with Colombian cartels. In addition, according to Henderson, Task Force 141, which was known to players of the previous parts, will return. Accordingly, Modern Warfare 2 will once again feature a solo campaign. During development, special attention was paid to the actions of the computer-controlled characters, so that they act even more realistically.

Which maps will be available?

It is not yet known which maps will serve as locations in the game. So we’ll have to wait and see. You can find various details on the Internet, but some of them contradict each other, so there doesn’t seem to be any reliable information yet.

When will Modern Warfare 2 be released?

An official release date has not been announced at this time. According to some reports from insiders, however, a release this year could be quite realistic. The talk here is of October as the release month. However, since these are not official announcements from the developer, this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
