So that players who can’t just play CoD all day also have a chance, there are so-called Double-XP-Weekends in “Call of Duty” at regular intervals. These Double XP Weekends are exactly what they sound like: a whole weekend during which all your earned XP will be doubled. However, it is often not quite that simple. Besides Warzone, there is still an annual “Call of Duty”, so does the 2XP weekend apply to Vanguard or Warzone? Or maybe even for both games? On top of that, there are different types of double XP: Operator XP, Weapon XP, Clan XP, Battle Pass, and Level XP.

But don’t worry, we’re here to tell you when which Double XP weekend takes place and everything you need to know about it.

When is the next “Call of Duty” Double XP Weekend?

The next 2XP weekend will take place on the weekend of March 24-28. We’re all eagerly awaiting – Season 2: Reloaded and as soon as it launches, we’ll also get a Double XP Weekend to celebrate the event. Usually we get 2XP weekends always at the beginning and end of a – Season or at the mid– Season update, so we don’t have to wait too long for the next event.

When does the 2XP weekend start?

Double XP Weekends usually start on Fridays for PlayStation and one day later for Xbox and PC. But that might change soon with the acquisition of Activison by Microsoft… Here you can find the usual start and end times of the 2XP weekends. However, it can always happen that such events are extended at short notice:

• PlayStation: Friday 19:00 – Monday 19:00
• Xbox & PC: Saturday 19:00 – Monday 19:00

How often do double XP events happen?

Under normal circumstances, we can expect a Double XP event about every 4-6 weeks. The developers often use such events to celebrate major events such as a new – Season . But nicely, we always get another Double XP event shortly before the end of a – Season , so that we can still finish leveling up the current Battle Pass.

If you want to keep grinding your weapons between Double XP weekends, you should use your Double XP tokens. You can redeem these tokens at any time to earn XP outside of events. However, please keep in mind that tokens do not scale with other events. So if you use Double XP tokens during a 2XP weekend, they will be given away.

What are Double-XP for?

Double-XP weekends almost always apply to Warzone and the current annual “Call of Duty”. So in the current case, it’s for Warzone and Vanguard. With few exceptions, we also get 2XP for all types of XP, i.e. Operator XP, Weapon XP, Clan XP, Battle Pass and Level XP.
