The time has come, the cat is out of the bag. Activision and developer Treyarch have announced the new shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. (buy now 49,95 € ) presented. And this one comes with a few surprises.
First, the biggest surprise: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will not feature a classic single-player campaign. The recent rumors have thus been confirmed. Instead, the shooter relies entirely on multiplayer battles, in which stories are also told – namely those of the specialists. The zombie mode is also back, which tells a new story. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 also offers a Battle Royale mode, which is supposed to be typical for a Call of Duty.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on PC via Battle.net. The PC version will be customizable in many options and will also support 4K resolution and HDR. Battle.Net’s social features will be supported.
Details about the multiplayer mode:
- Black Ops 4 relies on a high replay value, this is the focus of the shooter
- No thrust jump, no wall run – fights should be as close to reality as possible
- The fights are very fast and you always keep your gun on the ready, even when doing other things like throwing grenades or a climbing hook. You can always aim and shoot as well
- Specialists are back – Both new ones and revamped ones. The specialists have special abilities and special equipment
- The entire weapon system has been reworked and is the highlight of the game. Weapon handling is supposed to feel very realistic. This includes recoils, which require you to adjust your aim again and again.
- Weapons can be modified even more, making each weapon unique, as mods only apply to certain weapons
- You have to heal manually with a gadget, which is fast but can also be used tactically
- Crash was introduced as a medic who heals his team and who can also provide his team with something like a golden magazine that gives advantages
- A fog of war system only shows the immediate area on the map, which is why you need to pay attention to sounds. With Recon you can reveal the fog of war a bit
- The combat flow is also influenced by the level design – heroes also have an influence here. For example, when barbed wire is stretched
- League play returns
- The story is told through missions where you get to know the specialists

- Zombie mode is back in the game
- The entire mode has been reworked to provide even more fun in the team
- Black Ops 4 introduces a new world with new enemies and new heroes
- An ancient order wants to conquer the world and new heroes oppose this order
- These heroes have special abilities that you must use tactically in the missions
- Scarlet, Bruno, Diego and Shaw are the new heroes
- There are three zombie scenarios. One is set in an ancient arena, one on the Titanic and one is an evolution of “Mob of the Dead” and takes place in Alcatraz prison
- You get tools to make your own rules for the game. The tools allow you to customize the game as well as the zombies’ mutations, their speed, physics and much more to create your own game.

- The Zombie Rush is a new, fast-paced game mode
- There are difficulty levels and a tutorial again
The Battle Royale mode:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will feature a battle royale mode called Blackout
- The map is about 1,500 times bigger than Nuketown
- Nuketown, Firing Range and other iconic areas from the black ops games are represented
- You play all the characters from the previous Black Ops parts
- The gameplay will be fast and typical for Call of Duty
- There are many vehicles that you can use

More details are expected to follow in the summer. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
