Overwatch 2 brings many innovations and changes
Blizzard presented two new locations, the cities of Rome and New York, where you can also play Rome in the shooter’s new Push mode. In this, two teams must try to gain control of a robot and then send it into the enemy base. This creates a constant battle for the tin buddy. The battles are generally improved for Overwatch 2. And fundamentally, from the animations to the sounds. The McCree, Pharah, Reaper and Widowmaker have also been reworked, for example with new facial animations to better portray emotions during the story.
Internally, developers are currently testing new passive abilities for heroes, including a way to reduce knockback. Healers will be able to automatically heal when hit and damage dealers will get a speed bonus. Tanks will also be modified and will no longer only be used for protection, but will also be able to hit properly themselves.
The Hero missions are particularly exciting. There are supposed to be hundreds of them in Overwatch 2. When you complete them, you improve your hero using a new talent system. This makes it possible to customize your hero and adapt him to your play style. Since the hero missions are PvE content, the developers don’t have to pay too much attention to balancing and simply want to offer skills that are a lot of fun. During the missions, even the weather can change, there are also snow and sand storms and the time of day changes. You’ll have to incorporate all of this into your strategies.
Blizzard stated that Overwatch 2 will no longer be released in 2021. However, the team wants to talk more often and more about the hero shooter in the future.
