The populations of many WoW: Burning Crusade Classic servers are broken, which is a problem not only with regard to Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Blizzard now wants to improve the situation by merging realms and shutting down various servers in the process. Among them: the only German RP server.

While some realms are bursting at the seams, on others you can’t even get a raid full. Blizzard’s first measure: shut down problem child Firemaw and offer free server transfer options to realms with smaller populations. Now Blizzard has announced the next measure.
20 Classic servers are killed
In the official WoW forum, Community Manager Kaivax explains that the developers plan to decommission some Burning Crusade Classic realms and distribute their remaining players to other realms with higher populations. This consolidation of realms is planned for the weekly maintenance on August 10, 2022. The following realms will be shut down during this process:
- Bloodfang
- Celebras
- Dragon’s Call
- Dragonfang
- Dreadmist
- Finkle
- Flamelash
- Gandling
- Harbinger of Doom
- Heartstriker
- Judgement
- Lucifron
- Noggenfogger
- Rhok’delar
- Shazzrah
- Skullflame
- Stonespine
- Ten Storms
- Wyrmthalak
- Zandalar Tribe
This means that all of the Burning Crusade Classic realms listed above will be shut down on August 10 and will no longer be accessible after that. All player characters remaining on these realms will be automatically transferred to a new destination realm. The list also includes the four German servers Celebras, Dragon’s Call, Heartstriker and Lucifron.
What will happen to the RP players?
The shutdown of the RP server Celebras is particularly bitter. First, because there will be no RP alternative for German-speaking players. Secondly, because the German RP community had to fight for months to even get a DE-RP server for WoW Classic..
And thirdly, because Blizzard is solely responsible for the fact that the server must now be buried – because the developers had waited far too long to offer such a server (namely two months (!) after the release of WoW (buy now ) Classic). Accordingly, the comments under the post read sour.
