Last year, Blizzard officials had famously sent out two surveys to select WoW players to gauge their thoughts and desires on Burning Crusade Classic as well as fresh Classic realms. During the BlizzCon 2021 followed then the official announcement of the TBC re-release. Fresh Classic servers, where all characters start at level 1 and in phase 1, will possibly be available at a later date.

Those who want to continue playing WoW Classic after the launch of Burning Crusade Classic will be able to do so on the new Classic era realms. How the change will work and what else is known about the era realms, we had already summarized in the following article:

Now Blizzard has once again sent a survey to some players (via Wowhead), in which just those Classic era realms are the focus of the questions. Before we get to the questions, the developers first explain what distinguishes Classic Era servers from Burning Crusade Classic realms:

• Burning Crusade will not be released on Classic era servers.
• The Classic Era servers are grouped into server groups due to their small population. Players who belong to the same server group can meet each other within the game world.
• There may be major or minor changes for the Classic Era servers, thanks to which the game experience will differ from the experience with the original World of Warcraft (buy now ) will differ.

In one of the following questions, Blizzard then wants to find out how far they can go on the Classic Era servers when it comes to implementing customizations and new content. Specifically, players are asked to indicate whether they are negative or positive about the following statements:

• Players on Classic Era servers should be allowed to interact with players from other servers within their own server group.
• Classic-era servers will not be expanded to include Burning Crusade Classic and will remain in the final phase of WoW Classic.
• Classic-era servers may receive new content that differs from the original WoW experience.
• Classic-era servers could receive comfort enhancements that differ from the experience with the original WoW.
• Classic-era servers will forever retain WoW Classic status.

Following this, the developers want to know how players feel about major changes or new features for the Classic-era realms – a change to the honor system is mentioned as one example – and which version of WoW Classic players are most interested in:

• Classic era server with no changes at all
• Classic era server with comfort improvements
• Classic era server with big changes
• None of the options
