BikiniBodhi shows how strong the tachanka buff is – eSportsNews eSports RainbowSix

“Lord” Tachanka has always been a meme in Siege. The operator is considered the weakest in the entire game and even his rework did little to change that. However, after a recent buff, he seems to be quite acceptable – at least for one insane YouTuber.

Who is the YouTuber?

BikiniBodhi has been making Rainbow Six content for many years and is one of the biggest and most popular YouTubers for the game. His channel now has over 1.64 million subscribers.

With his videos he provides guides and interesting information, for example about an important change to the reinforcements. But time and again he comes up with completely absurd situations – like in his latest video, which highlights the operator Tachanka.

That’s how strong Tachanka is now:

In his video BikiniBodhi shows how he really cleans up with Tachanka. The operator has a new gadget since his rework, with which he can throw incendiary grenades.

These create a fire on the ground that damages enemies and allies. Actually, the gadget is meant to block a certain area (“area denial”). However, Bodhi uses the fire areas in a completely different way.

He lights an area on fire and then just traipses through. The opponents don’t expect anyone to be that stupid, and they get picked off in rows. They apparently expect the opponent to try to force them to take a different path and are surprised. He even sends his teammates through the fire for the kills. Bodhi himself comments, “Dude, that works so many times!”

However, he also uses the incendiary grenades to simply torch particularly troublesome enemies like Blitz or Montagne. The two have a shield and are hard to hit – but also quite slow.

Bodhi uses their lack of mobility to simply burn them, partly by sacrificing his team members when they block the opponent. Still, this leads to victory.

The strong buff after the (unintentional) rework

This is the buff:

Despite the rework, Tachanka was one of the weakest operators at the end of – Season 4 of Year 5. Therefore, he received a big buff with the Y6S1.3 update (via GameStar).

Almost everything that Tachanka can do was improved:

  • The capacity of his incendiary grenades is increased
  • Projectiles fly farther and faster
  • The time to detonation is reduced
  • Fire areas last longer and are larger
  • Tachanka’s main weapon can be equipped and discarded faster

From the looks of BikiniBodhi, the buff has had the desired effect. However, Bodhi is also one of the best players ever. Don’t assume that you’ll be able to slaughter all your opponents without any problems – it still takes practice.

What has been changed in Tachanka?

Originally, Tachanka did not have a grenade launcher, but a machine gun with a shield and a stand. He could mount and dismount the rifle, but was thus extremely stationary and virtually not mobile at all.

The rework came in 2020, after Tachanka had been the absolute bottom of the statistics for a while. By that time, however, a certain fan base had already built up that didn’t want to see their beloved “Lord” changed.

Despite its weakness, some players kept reaching for Tachanka. 200 players even started a petition against the rework.
