As a Warzone player I can only look envious, what Fortnite dares to do again

MyMMO author Maik Schneider tried his way through many “” games before he found his favorite with : Warzone. But when he looks at the current – Season 2 of Fortnite, he starts to doubt whether Warzone was the right choice.

Fortnite kicks off its – Season 2 of Chapter 3 with what is currently a bit of a controversial theme, but what I find impressive is not the new content, but rather what has been cut.

Fortnite unceremoniously removes building from matches and with it a core feature.

Some players see this as the loss of the unique selling point for the shooter – even though building will probably be back in the game soon, if the leaks are to be believed.

But the insane cover mechanic hasn’t been Fortnite’s big unique selling point for a long time. It’s the flexibility and the developers’ ability to reinvent themselves on a regular basis, providing players with a unique dynamic.

CoD Warzone lines up one content drought after another

As a fan of Warzone, I can only try not to let my jaw drop too obviously. Almost every time Fortnite gets a major update, I feel like I’m missing out on something special.

Who could have guessed that when I sunk a few hundred hours into Fortnite’s Battle Royale shortly after its release and decided to let it go?

The removal of mode made me painfully aware of that once again. Fortnite is simply the best Battle Royale right now.

Instead of completely relying on an important core feature, it flies out of the game at the drop of a hat and yet millions of players still want to get on the servers.

Once again, this shows that it’s not the building that makes Fortnite. It’s that “there’s always something new” mantra. And I’m so damn jealous of that. Want a few examples? Here you go:

Live concerts in the game, superhero nonsense, crazy events for almost every new – Season .

And in Warzone? The action hero event with Rambo and John McClane (Die Hard) was a highlight. Then there were the reveal events for the new CoDs and the Halloween games. There’s hardly anything more to tell.

CoD Warzone is the biggest horror MMO in the world right now and it’s killing me.

What do you guys think of Fortnite without building?

There is a poll about the currently construction-free Fortnite running here on MeinMMO:

Personally, I always found building in Fortnite very exciting and had a lot of fun with it. However, it wouldn’t be a reason for me to switch Battle Royale. It’s more because of the updates and the variety.

With each new – Season , I move closer to a re-download. Every crazy idea the Epic team comes up with to advance mechanics and story slowly but surely lures me back.

So if a highly motivated no-skin blows you away anytime soon, Fortnite may well have me back. Whether it’s with building or without.
