Battle of Saint-Lô
The 29th’s first mission was to Saint-Lô, a town in France, they were to clear the town of German troops. While driving to the town, their convoy was attacked by German mortars and a few were killed or wounded. However, McCullin’s squad was able to push back the German troops and capture the town.
Battle of St. Germaine
Since the 90th had run out of men, McCullin volunteered to help out. So the 29th went to St. Germaine to drive out the Germans there. They succeeded in doing so, although they took heavy casualties.
Battle of the Mayenne Bridge
The 29th was sent to Mayenne to clear the Mayenne Bridge of bombs and push back German troops. Everything was going according to plan until the Americans were attacked by German tanks. The American tanks could not advance because if they did, the Germans would blow up the Mayenne Bridge and the Allies would not be able to cross it. In addition, Pvt. Huxley was also shot and could not defuse the bombs, so McCullin had to defuse them, he succeeded, but McCullin was caught in an explosion and he died in Dixon’s arms.
Battle of Forêt d’Ecouves
The 29th’s objective this time was in a forest in Forêt d’Ecouves. They were to excavate German bunkers and destroy the Germans’ weapons caches. In the middle of the forest they found one of the surviving sappers, Pvt. Krupin. He was the only survivor of his group. Dixon’s team destroyed the German camp and bunkers.
Battle of Le Bourg-St.-Leonard
This time the 29th was to liberate the town of Le Bourg-St.-Leonard. However, before they could launch their attack, they were attacked by German mortars and many men died before the actual attack. However, they manage to destroy the mortars. In one building, however, Seargent Dixon is shot, but he survived. They drove the Germans out of the city and won the Battle of Le Bourg-St.-Leonard.
Battle of Chambois
The Germans retreated toward Chambois and right into the arms of the 29th. However, the German troops knew this and were able to prepare, unlike the Americans. The two forces were engaged in a fierce skirmish, with Sgt. Dixon being mortally wounded by a sniper. Guzzo, the ranking officer, took over the troops and continued to advance. Finally, the American troops were able to hold their own against the Germans and won the “Cauldron of Chambois”.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
