Apex Legends – Season 5 is here, and so is the new Legend Loba. So what has happened in the Tier List? Here comes our EarlyGame Apex Legends Tier List.
A new Legend, new map changes, and now a new Tier List. We took a closer look at the current meta of Apex Legends and created an EarlyGame Tier List.
Apex Legends C Tier
Octane
Thanks to his extra mobility and quirky voicelines, Octane is fun but not the best choice for Apex Legends – Season 5, offering neither high attack nor defense stats. In – Season 5, the cooldown on his Jump Ramp (Ultimate) was reduced by 30 seconds, but so far that doesn’t seem to have been enough to catapult him up the Tier List.
Revenant
The legend was added in – Season 4, but couldn’t hold the hype for long. While his Ulti is terrific, allowing him and his teammates to temporarily escape death, that’s about it. The other abilities sound better than they are and are less promising, especially in cooldown. C-tier only for you, Revenant.
Crypto
Added in – Season 3, Crypto is pretty dusted. He’s pretty incapable of defending himself and such a willing victim. While he did get a small buff in – Season 5, it’s not enough. Maybe Respawn Entertainment will improve him further and get him out of this C Tier that way.
Apex Legends B Tier
Caustics
Physically, Caustics could actually get into the A or even S tier, but otherwise the legend is not always promising because Caustics must be played very thoughtfully. His traps should be used wisely and thoughtfully to achieve victory – and usually only experienced players can do that.
Lifeline
She is the perfect heal, but unfortunately she can’t really do more. Sure, being healed at the push of a button is great, but the fact that the legend can hardly deal out any damage is usually a hindrance. Otherwise, the team has to be put together very well to compensate for the missing damage.
Bangalore
Just barely missing the A-tier is Bangalore in tier B. Her thunder can’t deal as much damage as other legendaries – but can still get kills easily, at least if you can play Bangalore. And therein lies the problem: the legend is very hard to use efficiently. Only for professionals!
Pathfinder
First still in S-, now in B-tier. A hard fall – and all because of one change in – Season 5: the Grapple. With a cooldown of a whopping 35 seconds, this ability is no longer as good at killing weaker enemies and quickly escaping a critical situation itself. At least his hitbox is still quite small, which is why he doesn’t slip lower in the Tier List.
Apex Legends A Tier
Loba
She’s new, she’s fast, she’s popular. Loba’s ultimate, Black Market Boutique, is pretty much the better version of the Lifeline care package – so they’ve learned from the mistakes of previous Legends. Steal loot, make a quick getaway…. What more could you ask for? We believe that Loba might make it to the S-Tier as well. Let’s wait and see what – Season 5 will bring…
Bloodhound
He was actually rather unpopular, his tactics betray his own position and make him vulnerable. Nevertheless, his abilities were buffed in – Season 5 and the cooldown of some abilities was reduced. Together with Bangalore, he can literally smoke out his finesse and show really good gameplay.
Wattson
She is present in almost every team, mainly thanks to her Interception Pilon, which destroys enemy throwing equipment and allows a team to hold a position. Combined with her traps, she is very strong, but only with the right team that has a strategy with her. With Caustics she is quite strong and she can even counter Gibraltar’s Ulti.
Apex Legends S Tier
Gibraltar
This legend has had a real transformation. When it was released, it was rather unpopular due to its sluggishness and large hitbox. Then came the buffs and now Gibraltar is almost unstoppable. His Ulti can even wipe out an entire enemy team. Definitely a legend recommendation.
Mirage
He was already pretty strong after his buff in – Season 2, but with the complete overhaul in – Season 5, he can fool his opponents even better. He revives his teammates and is still completely invisible. Definitely a plus for any team.
Wraith
We didn’t expect this before Apex Legends – Season 5: Wraith has moved up to S-Tier. She is temporarily invisible and immortal in-game, all thanks to her abilities, which also have a very short cooldown. An absolutely safe choice for any match.
What is actually… “Apex Legends?
Within 24 hours, “Apex Legends” became the most-watched game on Twitch – after one week, over 25 million people were already playing it. What is the battle royale shooter about?
What is “Apex Legends” about?
Scenario: In a distant future, bandits, adventurers, and outlaws settle their disputes in a sporting contest to the death. The setting is a fertile, industrially developed valley on the edge of the galaxy.
- Genre: Battle Royale shooter
- Game modes: survival battle between a maximum of 20 teams of three.
At its core, “Apex Legends” is a classic battle-royale shooter: up to 60 players land simultaneously in teams of three on the game map called “Kings Canyon” – a densely built-up, fertile valley with many accessible houses, bunkers and towers. Once on the ground, unarmed players must search their surroundings for equipment and ammunition. The goal of the game is to stay alive until the end.
To prevent players from hiding all over the map and waiting to automatically be the last one left, the game area shrinks every few minutes. The longer a round lasts, the smaller the area where survivors can move and hide.
Apex Legends refreshes this now classic game formula with some ideas that are unique to the genre: For example, before starting a round, players select one of eight heroes, each of which has two special abilities and facilitates certain play styles.
Bangalore, for example, is the classic soldier who can conceal her position with smoke grenades and call in an artillery strike in an emergency. The heroine Lifeline, on the other hand, can summon a drone to heal teammates – or directly order the delivery of high-value weapons and equipment via aerial drone. This way, all players can find the right hero for their preferred course of action.
How can I play Apex Legends?
Platform: “Apex Legends” is available for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Price: The battle royale shooter is a “Free to Play” title and can basically be played for free on all platforms.
In-game purchases: “Apex Legends” allows the purchase of cosmetic items and new heroes either by means of in-game currency, which can be earned for free in every round, or with real money. The real-money currency “Apex Coins” can be purchased in five different amounts: The smallest possible amount is 1000 Apex Points for around 9.99 euros, while the largest pack with 10,000 Apex Points content costs 99.99 euros.
The developer emphasizes that it is not possible to buy game advantages with the help of real money: You can only use it to customize the appearance of the heroes, it says, or purchase new heroes.
Age rating: “Apex Legends” does not have a youth rating (USK 18).
Which technical terms should you know?
Respawn Beacon: If a player is shot down, the team members who are still alive have the opportunity to bring the fallen comrade back into the game: Each eliminated player leaves behind a so-called Respawn Banner, which can be collected by the players of the own team and handed in at one of 28 Respawn Beacons, certain locations on the map. If this succeeds, the fallen player returns to the game.
Jumpmaster: At the beginning of the game, one of the maximum three players of a team always takes on the role of the jumpmaster. He decides when and where his team enters the game area.
Ping: Using the middle mouse button, players can alert their teammates to interesting locations in the game world or enemies. These pings are a valuable tool for communicating quickly and efficiently within the team.
