“Apex Legends” has made a breathtaking start, reminiscent of the success of “Fortnite”. And that’s despite the fact that it’s not supposed to really get going until soon: – Season 1 of “Apex Legends” will begin in March 2019. We have summarized the information on this and the other game times for you.
Developer Respawn Entertainment has published a roadmap for “Apex Legends”. The schedule gives an overview of the first four – Season s. – Season 1 will run from March to June. After that, it apparently continues seamlessly with – Season 2. So each – Season apparently lasts three months.
Each – Season brings new content
Every three months, new weapons, new legends, and new loot await you. – Season 1 also marks the debut of the Apex Legends Battle Pass. According to rumors, there will be a free and a paid (“Diamond”) variant. It is not yet known how much the latter will cost.
The Battle Pass will work similarly to “Fortnite”: By completing various challenges, you can unlock rewards such as weapon skins, outfits for the characters or Apex Packs. Owners of the paid Battle Pass will presumably receive more frequent and more rewards than users of the presumably free version. Respawn has already announced: Those who buy the “Battle Pass” can unlock around 100 different rewards per – Season . The rewards will also remain after the – Season . However, new Legends will not be playable via the Battle Pass.
What new Legends are coming?
There is no official information yet about which new characters will be added to the game. However, dataminers have apparently already found out how many new Legends have already been determined and what their names will be. Allegedly, we can look forward to a total of eleven new additions:
- Blackout
- Crypto
- Husaria
- Jericho
- Nomad
- Octane
- Prophet
- Rampart
- Rosie
- Skunner
- Wattson
In addition to the presumed names of the new characters, the dataminers have also discovered hints about some abilities: Wattson is said to be able to lay electric traps, which would also be an explanation for his name. Octane, on the other hand, could have a stimpack with him and heal teammates similar to Lifeline.
What new weapons will “Apex Legends” get?
The weapons are similar to the characters. Respawn has not yet revealed which new pistols and rifles will be available to you in the future. However, data miners claim to have already identified at least some of them: Among other things, they predicted some time ago that the Havoc would be new to the game. And indeed, the assault rifle with electric ammunition has now made it into the game. You can read more about its features in our comprehensive weapons guide for Apex Legends.
The dataminers have also found hints of two more new weapons in the game files: The L-Star is said to be a legendary assault rifle that is slightly more penetrative than the Spitfire – and doesn’t require ammo. However, the weapon can apparently overheat. “Titanfall 2” gamers might already be familiar with the L-Star. This also applies to another supposedly soon-to-be-available new weapon: The CAR submachine gun also comes from the first-person shooter, in which you control giant robots.
Possible new game modes
Currently, “Apex Legends” only offers one game mode: You always jump into a Battle Royale match in teams of three. According to rumors, this could change in the future. There are supposedly hints of a duo and a solo mode in the game files. Other Battle Royale titles like “Fortnite” or “PUBG” have been playable alone for a long time. “Apex Legends”, on the other hand, is designed as a team shooter from the ground up. Another leak also hints at a Survial mode. In this mode, a commentator will rate your performance. It remains to be seen if and when these game modes will actually come.
New maps for “Apex Legends”?
Respawn CEO Vince Zampella has already announced that new maps for “Apex Legends” will be coming. However, a lot of time is likely to pass until then. “Fortnite,” for example, still relies on a single map, but it has changed over time. Respawn could also proceed similarly and gradually adapt the only map available so far (“King’s Gulch”). “PUBG” does offer several maps in the meantime. However, the Battle Royale pioneer has been on the market much longer than Apex Legends.
