– Season 8 of Apex Legends is here and celebrates the game’s two-year anniversary. The patch notes for the new – Season have brought some buffs and nerfs, but at the end of the day, not much has changed. So which are the best Legends in – Season 8: Chaos? We’ll tell you!
The – Season 8: Mayhem patch notes brought more nerfs for some popular legendaries, but still, not much has changed. In fact, only half of the legendaries received a buff or a nerf. Wraith, as always, was at the top of the nerf list and is now a bit easier to hit, but did that really affect her Tier List rank? We take a look at the Tier List for Apex Legends – Season 8:
D-Tier
Octane – The adrenaline junkie is really fun to play, but even in – Season 8 it feels like he doesn’t really bring much to the team. He did get some nice buffs in the – Season 8 patch notes, but they aren’t enough to make him preferable to stronger characters like Bloodhound. Verticality is becoming especially important in Apex lately, so we have high hopes that he will climb higher as the – Season progresses.
C-Tier
Wattson – Surprised to see Wattson in the C-Tier? Wattson is an absolute monster in pro matches and in the very high tiers, but she can be countered pretty easily. She didn’t receive any changes in – Season 8, so nothing has changed for herself, but instead for the meta around her. She is also limited to pure defense compared to other defensive legendaries like Caustic.
Loba – Loba scratches at the B tier…. but narrowly misses it. She got a cool buff with – Season 8: Loot in unopened care packages is now visible with Eye for Quality and accessible through the Black Market boutique. Black Market is great at the beginning of the game, but gets weaker and weaker in the late game.
Mirage – Mirage received a buff in the latest patch. His decoys now have footsteps that can actually be heard to fool opponents. Just like Octane, he’s a lot of fun to play, but his utility to the team isn’t outstanding. Fun for in between, but definitely not the best choice.
Rampart – The concept of Rampart is really nice: You just mow down everyone in your line of sight with your weapon! In reality, though, it doesn’t work so easy, as your enemies often attack you from multiple sides. She got some buffs in – Season 8 and the damage of the Spitfire was increased from 18 to 19, which makes Rampart directly better. However, she is still far from the top legendaries and Sheila can still use some buffs.
B-Tier
Lifeline – Lifeline is the expert when it comes to reviving your teammates – even two at a time thanks to the drone. She is one of the most popular Legends and you can see her in almost every match. The downside: your Ultimate is absolutely useless most of the time. You’ll occasionally get some great items, but often you’re just giving away your position and it’s not worth it – quite the opposite.
Pathfinder – Oh, the tragic crash of the friendly robot. Pathfinder was an absolute nightmare not so long ago, but numerous nerfs to his hitbox and grappling hook have turned him into nothing more than an average legend. It’s still good, but not as good as it used to be. Those days are over!
Bangalore – The legend in Apex if you are coming from a “normal” shooter or Battle Royale. It’s perfect for new players, but don’t let that fool you. Bangalore’s gear can be used in all sorts of creative ways. Her Tactical can be used to revive a teammate, provide cover, or create a way to attack enemies from both sides. And then there’s her Ultimate, but it definitely has room to grow and could use a buff.
Revenant – Remember when Revenant came out and everyone played it? Yeah, those were the days. The problem is, nowadays everyone knows how Revenant plays and most players will be prepared to counter him. His Tactical can be the difference between winning and losing, and the Ultimate is a push for the whole team.
A-Tier
Fuse – He just came to Apex Legends with – Season 8 and Fuse is already in A-Tier? He’s just new and the star of – Season 8, which is why he gets his glory before the inevitable nerf comes. Or maybe his kit isn’t overpowered at all – we just haven’t gotten used to him yet. Prepare to be blasted to death with grenades until the next patch notes arrive!
Crypto – Another Legend that didn’t receive any changes in – Season 8 is Crypto. Crypto’s drone is his best tool and gives you quite an advantage when combined with EMP. Deadly in team fights! Yeah, we can hear you saying “Wait, his drone sucks and he’s completely unprotected when he uses it”! You’re right, of course. So focus more on killing your opponents and less on being easy prey. Always use the drone with caution!
Caustic – Caustic got a slight nerf in the last patch: His Ultimate now resolves when he dies. Caustic is one of the best Legends in the endgame, as he can easily isolate the small end zones. He can hold buildings better than anyone else, as he is defense personified, and he can still go for loot as well. The only major drawback is his hitbox, but you can accept that with all his strengths.
S-Tier
Bloodhound – Bloodhound is like a walking radar, there is simply no escape! Imagine playing Apex Legends with a wallhack. You don’t have to, just play Bloodhound! What makes him even better is his Ultimate, an absolute beast that you can’t escape. If you coordinate well as a team, you will destroy any other squad that doesn’t have Bloodhound!
Wraith – Two years after release, Wraith is still one of the most popular Legends, despite receiving numerous nerfs. Respawn said that they won’t bother with their kit anymore and instead will try to customize it by changing other things. One such thing was Legend’s hitbox, which received a nerf with the release of Mayhem. Sure it’s easier to hit now, but it’s still a strong part of any team. Getting out of danger easily – check. Transporting your entire team to another building – check.
Gibraltar – Gibby may be a defensive legend, but his Ultimate deals heavy damage. His Tactical is also one of the best in the game, and the only way to counter him is to silence him before he can use it. He is ideal in one-on-one duels and will almost always walk away victorious. Gibraltar is also great on the fairly open map Olympus.
Horizon – We’ve already talked about verticality in Apex Legends, and there’s no one more vertical than Horizon. Her Tactical is just rad and has such a low cooldown that we’re surprised we didn’t see any nerfs in – Season 8. She is simply a better version of Octane and Pathfinder. Horizons Ultimate is mega by itself, but it gets even better when you combine it with other Ultimates like Fuse’s Motherlode.
What is actually… “Apex Legends?
Within 24 hours, “Apex Legends” became the most-watched game on Twitch – after one week, over 25 million people were already playing it. What is the battle royale shooter about?
What is “Apex Legends” about?
Scenario: In a distant future, bandits, adventurers, and outlaws settle their disputes in a sporting contest to the death. The setting is a fertile, industrially developed valley on the edge of the galaxy.
- Genre: Battle Royale shooter
- Game modes: survival battle between a maximum of 20 teams of three.
At its core, “Apex Legends” is a classic battle-royale shooter: up to 60 players land simultaneously in teams of three on the game map called “Kings Canyon” – a densely built-up, fertile valley with many accessible houses, bunkers and towers. Once on the ground, unarmed players must search their surroundings for equipment and ammunition. The goal of the game is to stay alive until the end.
To prevent players from hiding all over the map and waiting to automatically be the last one left, the game area shrinks every few minutes. The longer a round lasts, the smaller the area where survivors can move and hide.
Apex Legends refreshes this now classic game formula with some ideas that are unique to the genre: For example, before starting a round, players select one of eight heroes, each of which has two special abilities and facilitates certain play styles.
Bangalore, for example, is the classic soldier who can conceal her position with smoke grenades and call in an artillery strike in an emergency. The heroine Lifeline, on the other hand, can summon a drone to heal teammates – or directly order the delivery of high-value weapons and equipment via aerial drone. This way, all players can find the right hero for their preferred course of action.
How can I play Apex Legends?
Platform: “Apex Legends” is available for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Price: The battle royale shooter is a “Free to Play” title and can basically be played for free on all platforms.
In-game purchases: “Apex Legends” allows the purchase of cosmetic items and new heroes either by means of in-game currency, which can be earned for free in every round, or with real money. The real-money currency “Apex Coins” can be purchased in five different amounts: The smallest possible amount is 1000 Apex Points for around 9.99 euros, while the largest pack with 10,000 Apex Points content costs 99.99 euros.
The developer emphasizes that it is not possible to buy game advantages with the help of real money: You can only use it to customize the appearance of the heroes, it says, or purchase new heroes.
Age rating: “Apex Legends” does not have a youth rating (USK 18).
Which technical terms should you know?
Respawn Beacon: If a player is shot down, the team members who are still alive have the opportunity to bring the fallen comrade back into the game: Each eliminated player leaves behind a so-called Respawn Banner, which can be collected by the players of the own team and handed in at one of 28 Respawn Beacons, certain locations on the map. If this succeeds, the fallen player returns to the game.
Jumpmaster: At the beginning of the game, one of the maximum three players of a team always takes on the role of the jumpmaster. He decides when and where his team enters the game area.
Ping: Using the middle mouse button, players can alert their teammates to interesting locations in the game world or enemies. These pings are a valuable tool for communicating quickly and efficiently within the team.
