Apex Legends is now released for mobile devices.
Update, May 17: Apex Legends Mobile was released today for iOS and Android. The Launch Trailer can be found here, the German patch notes including the new legend Fade on EA’s official site.
Before Diablo Immortal is released for smartphones, tablets and PCs in a few weeks, another extremely promising game, Apex Legends, will be released on iOS and Android devices in May. Developer Respawn Entertainment has now officially confirmed this to VGC. Just like on consoles, you can download the Battle Royale shooter for free, and there will be no pay2win mechanics either.
Is there already an exact release date? Unfortunately not yet. “I am pleased to announce that Apex for Mobile will launch worldwide in May“, said Mobile Design Director Jordan Patz.

What’s in Apex Legends for Mobile
According to the developer, you’ll get a full-fledged Battle Royale experience that has been developed and adapted specifically for mobile devices. Cross-play and cross-progression, such as Diablo Immortal offers with the PC version, is unfortunately not possible here. Ten Legends (Heroes) are available at launch, including Wraith, Octane, Bloodhound, and Pathfinder.
Playable for free: Apex Legends is financed on mobile just like its console and PC offshoots by a Battle Pass and purely cosmetic microtransactions. There are no Pay2Win mechanics here either.
