– Season 13 of Apex Legends is coming soon, and for us that means new locations, new heirlooms, new skins, and of course, a new Legend. At the beginning of – Season 12, we assumed that the leaked character Jester would be the next playable character, but apparently that’s not the case. Instead, the newest legend is the friendly fellow you can see in the cover image: Newcastle.

Who is the new Legend for – Season 13?
The new Legend that will be participating in the Apex Games is Bangalore’s long-lost brother Newcastle. He will be a support hero, particularly focused on protecting and reviving allies. The little we’ve seen of him so far gives the impression that he gets a bit cocky at times. That’s just the way the best legends are, though.

That alone makes it look like Bangalore and him are constantly at loggerheads when they’re on the road together. Let’s see how we experience the two of them together in the game – that could also be quite entertaining.

When will the new Legend be released?
Newcastle will be released at the launch of – Season 13 and that is on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. This new – Season will most likely be released at the same time as the weekly update, so around 7:00 PM. If anything changes, we will of course inform you.

Newcastle’s Tactical: Mobile Shield
Description: Throw a controllable drone that creates a mobile energy shield.
In the trailer it reminds us a bit of Gibraltar’s shield, but when actually connected to an automated or remote-controlled drone, it could prove to be far more versatile than a simple shield to revive your teammates. The ability could be absolutely broken, but we’ll have to wait and see for ourselves what its limitations are.

Newcastle’s Passive: Retrieve The Wounded
Description: Pull downed allies while reviving them and protect them with your revive shield.
The ability to drag allies with you will definitely come in handy, but is definitely not a gamebreaker, especially considering how well downed players can already move on their own.

Newcastle’s Ultimate: Castle Wall
Description: Jump and land in an area or on an ally and create a fortified wall.
This is probably the most exciting of his abilities, but we haven’t seen much of it in the trailer yet. It’s still hard to gauge how this Ultimate will work or how good it will be. However, we can guess that it won’t be easy to use effectively.

What is “Apex Legends” about?

Scenario: In a distant future, bandits, adventurers, and outlaws settle their disputes in a sporting contest to the death. The setting is a fertile, industrially developed valley on the edge of the galaxy.

• Game modes: survival battle between a maximum of 20 teams of three.

At its core, “Apex Legends” is a classic battle-royale shooter: up to 60 players land simultaneously in teams of three on the game map called “Kings Canyon” – a densely built-up, fertile valley with many accessible houses, bunkers and towers. Once on the ground, unarmed players must search their surroundings for equipment and ammunition. The goal of the game is to stay alive until the end.

To prevent players from hiding all over the map and waiting to automatically be the last one left, the game area shrinks every few minutes. The longer a round lasts, the smaller the area where survivors can move and hide.

Apex Legends refreshes this now classic game formula with some ideas that are unique to the genre: For example, before starting a round, players select one of eight heroes, each of which has two special abilities and facilitates certain play styles.

Which technical terms should you know?

Respawn Beacon: If a player is shot down, the team members who are still alive have the opportunity to bring the fallen comrade back into the game: Each eliminated player leaves behind a so-called Respawn Banner, which can be collected by the players of the own team and handed in at one of 28 Respawn Beacons, certain locations on the map.
