Electronic Arts and the responsible developers from Respawn Entertainment have announced another event for the Battle Royale shooter “Apex Legends”. Next Tuesday, January 11, 2022, the “Dark Depths” event will kick off and bring with it a new arena map, cosmetic items and lightning events, among other things. Players will be able to engage with the new content until February 1, 2022.

The terrors of the deep

The new arena map is “Habitat”. The official statement is: “Habitat 4 is one of the smallest islands in the New Antilles archipelago. It has been known as a breeding ground for Leviathans since early research groups at IMC surprisingly encountered a large population of Leviathans and established Habitat 4 as a base for the behavioral study of the creatures. Habitat 4’s terrain, eroded and shaped over time, includes a large waterfall and the cave and nest, located on elevated positions in opposite parts of the island. The new map features slides and quick escape routes so Legends can quickly support their team when they get separated or outnumbered.”

Furthermore, players will be able to complete Lightning Events each week, which include unique prizes and badges. In addition, players will also be able to unlock Apex packs, holosprays, skins and more. Themed cosmetic items will also be coming to the game to transform the Legends into the Terrors from the Deep. In addition, Ash, Horizon, Lifeline and Fuse will also get Legendary skins that can be purchased.

Special Dark Depths packs will also be available for this, which will cost 400 Apex coins each. They will contain weapon talismans, trackers, and more, in addition to the new Legend skins. There will also be no duplicates in the Dark Depths packs.
