Amazon Prime Gaming: StarCraft Remasterd

Subscribers to Amazon Prime – which will also be quite a bit more expensive from mid-September – can continue to secure free games and content via Prime Gaming. Now the line-up for August has been announced.

From August 1, Amazon via Prime Gaming provides the next selection of free full versions for the PC. Prime subscribers can secure a total of six titles at no additional cost. The most prominent representative is certainly StarCraft Remastered from Blizzard Entertainment. In addition to the remastered version of the strategy classic, you can also get ScourgeBringer and the classic point-and-click adventure Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders.

The free games at Amazon Prime Gaming in August at a glance

    • StarCraft: Remastered – In this remastered sci-fi game that paved the way for Esports, players can command the mechanized Terrans, the psi-powered Protoss, or the insectoid Zerg as they vie for control of the map with its eight unique environments.

    • Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders – In this classic point-and-click adventure game, only ZakMcKracken, a reporter for the disreputable National Inquisitor, can save the day. Players travel back to 1997 and cooperate with Zak in a world where aliens have built a dumbing down machine that sucks the IQ out of humans until only single digits remain.

    • Beasts of Maravilla Island – Players take on the role of a young wildlife photographer who travels Maravilla Island and its stunning ecosystem to discover extraordinary creatures. Players explore the creatures’ behavior and-most importantly-photograph them in all their glory.

    • Recompile – Players take control of a semi-human program that struggles to avoid being deleted in the 3D world of a sprawling mainframe. Players must compile new features for intense combat, superpowers, overcoming difficult 3D platforms, and logic-based hack mechanics in the game environment.

    • ScourgeBringer – In this dynamic platformer, players help Kyhra as she explores the great unknown and slashes her way through ancient machines that guard the secret of her past and possibly the redemption of mankind.

    • Family Mysteries: Poisonous Promises – Players plunge into the world of corrupt elites, seductive women, and corrupt cops and battle for , the ultimate currency.

Detached from the full versions, there is of course again plenty of game content for current top titles and perennial favorites in the next summer month. GTA Online, Fall Guys, Red Dead Online, Destiny 2 or will continue to be represented here, as will Lost Ark, 22, PUBG: Battlegrounds or Call of Duty: Vanguard.

This rich offer, which is available at no additional cost as part of Amazon’s Prime membership, pays off for the provider, because Prime Gaming has grown enormously in recent years, according to official figures.

In the last two years alone, the number of Prime Gaming users has increased by more than 120 percent, and the use of free games as well as in-game content has even increased by more than 330 percent in the last three years. Last year, there were more than 420 million redeemed offers, with more than 80 million free games claimed. There was plenty of that last year in 2021, with more than 100 free games and more than 675 in-game content offers on Prime Gaming. In the current year 2022, more than 75 titles were already offered for free.
