Warzone: Be sure to check out these settings – especially if you are a controller player

Who’s the info coming from?

JGOD is a professional gamer, Twitch streamer and also on YouTube. He is also one of the best known and most popular experts on Call of Duty. He is considered extremely competent in the community and almost embodies a kind of guru, who is popular with many for his often very in-depth analyses and guides. In short: JGOD knows what he’s talking about and what he says always has a lot of substance.

What’s the deal with the settings?

The settings that JGOD is concerned with are individual sensitivity settings for different zoom levels of sights. They allow you to adjust how sensitive the mouse or the analog sticks of a gamepad controller behave when aiming through the different sights.

This is now different:

Previously, you could only choose 2 different settings for the ZV sensitivity multiplier here: High Zoom or Low Zoom. Since the Pacific update at the start of – Season 1, however, you can make much more extensive adjustments here – in principle for just about any zoom level of visor attachments:

  • Low Zoom (up to 2x)
  • 2x zoom
  • 3x Zoom
  • 4x Zoom
  • 5x zoom
  • 6x zoom
  • 7x zoom
  • 8x zoom
  • Large zoom (greater than 8x)

Exactly this change, however, many have not even noticed – especially if they do not play Vanguard, but only know Warzone and / or Modern Warfare 2019.

Why is that important?

So meanwhile you can fine-tune the motion sensitivity individually for each zoom level. According to JGOD, this should bring the most noticeable advantages on the controller (consoles) or with a higher field of view (PC).

Because with controller, the movement speed of the sight decreases noticeably with increasing zoom, i.e. a lower Field of View (FoV), in order to still ensure the highest possible precision. Also, in the low-zoom range with a higher FoV on the PC, the sensitivity can be lowered somewhat with the corresponding modifier in order to force a somewhat slower movement and thus a higher precision when aiming even with sights with a lower zoom.

By the way, why a higher FoV works faster, you can see exemplarily here: In short: Whether you use the controller or the mouse and keyboard with a higher FoV – with a little experimentation you can adjust each weapon and its sight to your own preferences and control the gun better. You can check out JGOD’s detailed analysis here:

Here you can find the settings:

Go to the options menu. There you will find the setting “Custom sensitivity per zoom”. If you set this setting to “On”, you can then adjust the sensitivity multiplier for the different zoom levels to your preferences directly under “Advanced”. The same applies to controllers, but then under the menu item “Controller”. You can set the Field of View in the options under “Graphics” and then under the “Quality” tab.
