American eSports organization FaZe made history this weekend in Cologne, Germany. A good start for a week in which all eyes are on them.
FaZe has managed to do what no CS:GO team has done before: they’ve won almost everything important there is to win. With last weekend’s triumph in Cologne, they complete a winning streak that has been nothing short of amazing.
The trophy from Cologne now joins trophies from Katowice, the ESL Pro League and the Major. On their way to this summit, however, they were also challenged quite a bit. The Ukrainian team Na’Vi managed to keep it exciting until the very end on Sunday. The Cologne final was played over all 5 maps, and in the end the Americans won by a razor-thin margin of 16-14 on Nuke.
FaZe player Rain was visibly relieved after the tough task:
“Ending on the 5th map, 16-14… I almost passed out when I won it”.
He’s finally lifted the #IEM Cologne trophy so we had to hear from @FaZe_rainCS on the stage
