In Pokémon GO, the World Cup event has been running since today, in which you have to fight against various challengers. We at MeinMMO have taken a look at which monsters they use in battle and how you can defeat them.
What are these challengers? Since the World Cup event has been taking place in Pokémon GO since today, August 18, and everything revolves around PvP battles, you can once again encounter so-called challengers in the game. You can find them at the PokéStops, just like Team GO Rocket.
There you can challenge them and compete against them. And also to solve the temporary research during the World Cup event, you will have to face the challengers. In doing so, they will go for the winning teams of the regional championships.
We’ve summarized which ones they are and which types you’ll use to best defeat them below.
How long does it take to find the challengers? Challengers can be found at PokéStops in the game from August 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM local time until August 23, 2022 at 8:00 PM local time.
These are the challenger teams
Which challengers are there? During the World Cup event, you can encounter a total of 6 different challengers in Pokémon GO. As you know from other PvP battles or from Team GO Rocket, 3 different Pokémon will be used in the battle.
For each slot, challengers can choose from two different monsters. With the help of LeekDuck’s overview, we have summarized all the teams you can encounter below:
At this point, not all teams are fully known, so we will add the missing Pokémon to our overview as soon as possible.
Use these types in battle against the challengers
What to watch out for? The Pokémon that can be chosen by challengers belong to different types and thus have different weaknesses. Depending on the monster you are facing, you should therefore use the appropriate weakness to defeat him as quickly as possible.
Below we show you for each challenger which types you should best use in the fight against each monster.
