Infinity Ward announces comprehensive info on the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 an. As the developers announce in a recent blog entry, a multiplayer event will take place on September 15. “Call of Duty Next” event will take place, where the makers want to talk about the future of the first-person shooter series. Players can look forward to a “full multiplayer reveal of Modern Warfare 2”, which will presumably include details on new perks and killstreaks in addition to insights into the game modes and maps.
Also planned are “information on Warzone 2.0 and more details on the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone (known as Project Aurora). During the September 15 event, you’ll be able to look over the shoulders of select streamers “playing the games in real time” and broadcasting to the Internet on their channels. Individual surprises are also in store for the Call of Duty Next event. In addition to details on the Announcement of the multiplayer event the developers also give the individual Dates for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Beta known.
Modern Warfare 2: When will the beta take place?
Accordingly, the first weekend will run from September 16 to 20 – initially exclusively on PlayStation. While pre-orderers will be able to participate in the beta early on September 16 and 17, the testing phase will switch to open for all players from September 18 to 20. The second weekend runs from September 22 to 26. Between September 22 and 23, pre-orderers on Xbox and PC will take part, while from September 24, all players will be able to try out the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta. On PS5 and PS4, an open beta will again take place on the entire second weekend.

- September 22-23 – Early Access Beta on Xbox + PC, open beta on PlayStation.

Crossplay active, unlock rewards
Crossplay is active during the Modern Warfare 2 beta. This means, for example, that PS5 players can join the fray with Xbox users. For the test phase, the developers are promising a selection of multiplayer maps in various sizes, along with different game modes. Concrete info should be available at the Call of Duty Next event. One of the confirmed 6vs6 maps for the beta is Marina Bay Grand Prix: Here the battles take place in the middle of an urban race track. Within the MW2 beta, you’ll earn individual rewards that you’ll unlock once you launch the full version of the first-person shooter. Infinity Ward plans to provide more information before the start of the Next event in mid-September. The full version will be released on October 28.
