Twitch streamers shroud and iiTzTimmy

Super People hasn’t even been released yet, but is already doing well on Steam. Now they announced the two popular Twitch streamers shroud and iiTzTimmy as playable characters, but the community is worried that priorities are misplaced here.

What is Super People?

  • Super People is a battle royale game from Korean developer Wonder People and draws heavily from models such as : Battlegrounds
  • However, there is a twist: all characters have superpowers, which can really mess up the game flow
  • On Steam, the game could already record up to 50,000 concurrent players, while it is still in beta (via steamcharts), also streamers like DrDisrespect and shroud showed the shooter already
  • Now, however, some decisions of the developers cause displeasure among the players

Developers give a taste of streamer characters

This is the current state of Super People: The final beta of Super People ended on August 30. Fans of the shooter will now have to wait until Early Access on October 10 before they can jump back into the fray.

Perhaps the announcement on August 31 should therefore shorten the waiting time for players and keep the anticipation going. Because the developers announced via Twitter announced two new playable characters and also showed images.

These are the new characters: With Michael “shroud” Grzesiek and Timothy “iiTzTimmy” An, two popular shooter streamers have been grabbed and immortalized as playable characters.

This is what shroud and iiTzTimmy will look like in Super People

What abilities the two new Super People will have has not yet been announced. It is also not yet known if more streamers will appear in the game in the future.

Frustration among players: “We need fewer cheaters instead of childish skins”.

What the fans say: There doesn’t seem to be much anticipation in view of the new characters. There are words of praise and suggestions to include more familiar names in the game. But many players have completely different concerns.

This bothers the players: Essentially, players are annoyed by 3 things: the servers, the cheaters, and the wait for Early Access. Here are a few of the reactions to the announcement:

  • PRATTZY asks, “Will we get proper servers and footstep audio?”
  • F/A x Kitten has had a bad experience, “These cheaters are ruining the competitions! I lost my chance in the finals with some others during the Solo FPP tournament to a cheater.”
  • Yourself wishes for more speed: “Guys, if you can work fast it would be better, otherwise the player base will die you. At least give us current updates about the game to keep the hype going.”
  • Asith Pussewela doesn’t want to wait that long: “Cool thing, but October 11, that’s still a month wait to play the game.”
  • JM doesn’t even get that far: “Would help if I could actually play the game and not get an error message every time.”

Some players feel that the developers don’t have their priorities straight. One player thinks that instead of “childish skins,” they need better servers, fewer cheaters, and a number of smaller improvements.

Another agrees with him:

I couldn’t agree more. It’s obvious they’re not focusing on what’s important. They picked the worst release date and are focusing on nonsense like that. No one wants to look like a streamer to follow, it’s a niche market and a waste of time and resources.

So far, the developers have not commented on the community’s feedback. Perhaps they can use the time until the start of Early Access to address some of the issues mentioned by players.

How do you see it, could Super People convince you in the beta or would you rather wait for the final release? Do you like the streamer characters or do you think the developers should reassess their priorities?

Whether it suits the games or not, it’s hard to imagine the scene without content creators. Even e-sports teams are already specifically hiring streamers to promote themselves. Some can really profit from this development:
