These are some League of Legends champions you should definitely consider for Top Lane for patch 10.14.

  • Volibear
  • Shen
  • Wukong
  • Quinn

Volibear

Volibear may get some significant nerfs in patch 10.14, but that won’t stop him from continuing to the top lane. His kit is simply strong after the rework. Volibear is all about offensive playstyle and synergies with the jungler. Tower diving, HP and armor stacking are the order of the day. He is a preferred choice in the LEC and LCS for good reason. He will remain strong with patch 10.14, but keep in mind the upcoming adjustments with patch 10.14.

EarlyGame Tip: If you want to stop this unstoppable bear, pick something that can keep up with his tank stats and isn’t a sitting duck on ganks or tower dives.

Shen

Shen is a familiar ninja. But did you know that he is incredibly strong right now? It’s been a while since Riot Games has touched this ninja, but with his taunt, global Ulti, and great teamfight potential, Shen has risen in the ranks as of patch 10.13. The most recent change is his Q buff. Combined with the buffed Titanic Hydra, he is able to deal tremendous damage for a tank and take down carries within a taunt duration. We expect him to continue and expand his reign throughout Patch 10.14.

As mentioned earlier, Titanic Hydra is the most important item for Shen. You should aim to it no later than second. Otherwise, if you equip the champion with tank items like Sunfire Cape and Spirit Sight, you will become an immortal threat in the late game.

EarlyGame Tip: Be sure to play with Teleport as your second summoner spell. This way you can make sure that after a rescue of your teammates or a kill on the dragon, you can get back to the top lane without much delay. This way you lose little XP and gold to CS and your lane opponent doesn’t have a long breather to push your tower.

Wukong

The recent rework made Wukong the king of Top Lane. His changed abilities in recent patches have allowed the monkey to literally rise to the top. For good reason. Wukong is incredibly strong, has fantastic teamfight potential, and an Ultimate so strong that the League of Legends community is demanding that the changes be reversed.

Wukong is a high priority pick right now due to his extreme damage in all phases of the game. His ultimate, Cyclone, can be cast twice! Mimicking the abilities makes him a threat to everyone and we strongly recommend playing him in patch 10.14. The abilities have barely been toned down. Choose full lethality for Wukong, get the damage!

EarlyGame Tip: Malphite, Camille, and Darius are fantastic counters to Wukong. We recommend taking Wukong out in the early game to prevent him from getting out of control. Your jungler can certainly support you here.

Quinn

With over 50% win rate, Quinn conquered the top lane in flight and continues to dominate. Her mobility, slowing and blinding abilities make her a feared champion for Patch 10.14. She is also able to move extremely fast across the map. Thus, she can support her team without much disadvantage to her own lane. Her Engage with the Burst, followed by Slow and CC is simply scary. If you see Quinn flying over a Ward, it’s usually already too late.

One downside to this fantastic early-game champion in the top lane is that Quinn falls off quickly in the late game. So if you choose her, you’ll need to win your lane and the game quickly.

EarlyGame Tip: Quinn is a very strong early-game champion. Take advantage of your advantage over melee fighters and dominate the lane. Once you reach level 6, start roaming. Support your team. But don’t leave your laning opponent alone for too long. When facing Garen, Malphite, Renekton, Jax, or Volibear, these champions can quickly become dangerous to you.

That’s it for the OP LoL champion list for patch 10.14 for now! Of course, we have not only reviewed the Top Lane for you, but also the rest of the patch notes. If you can’t get enough of us and League of Legends, how about taking a look at our top 5 plays from the weekend?
