LoL League of Legends – Teamfight Tactics: Patch 10.16 – a space hunk

LoL League of Legends – Teamfight Tactics: Patch 10.16 - a space hunk
With LoL Patch 10.16 comes a veritable asteroid storm of changes. (Source: )

Another two weeks have passed and Riot presents patch 10.16 for Teamfight Tactics. Changes to the galaxies, items and of course champions. Mort and his team are trying to turn the meta upside down again.

The developers of Riot are taking a short but well-deserved summer break. Patch 10.17 will therefore be very compact. All the bigger is patch 10.16. Today Riot has all kinds of changes in store for you. In the following we go through everything step by step and easily digestible and analyze the most important buffs, nerfs and changes.

The Galaxies

  • NEW: Salvage World: When you sell a champion, all of their equipped full items are broken down into their components. If you can’t find the champions you want for your team, you’ll be able to re-roll much easier and won’t be tied to the items you’ve already made. This is an absolute must for the pro tacticians among you, who are well versed in all combos.
  • Removed: Star Cluster: The Galaxy wasn’t really embraced by players and missed its point. Salvage World as a replacement is the right decision.

Subclasses / Traits

  • Manaraub: All Manaraub effects have been toned down from 40% to 30%. This nerf is primarily aimed at the Shroud of Silence item.
  • Chrono: Attack speed increase: 8/3.5/1.5/0.75 ⇒ 8/3/1/0.5 seconds. Riot is trying to make Chrono a more important part of combos. The problem with this is that the synergy of Chrono champions and their individual strength is limited, and stacking usually doesn’t pay off.
  • Infiltrator: Infiltrators now always take 0.6 seconds to jump into the enemy half, regardless of where they are standing.
  • Mecha Justice: damage: 700/750/800/850/900/1200/5000 ⇒ 650/700/750/850/900/1200/5000 Momenta there are a lot of combos that work and scale very well with mecha pilots. Taking a little wind out of the space sail doesn’t hurt here. Good job, Riot!
  • Rebel: Shield Strength: 150/210/330 ⇒ 150/225/400 Among the Rebels, there’s really only Malphite, who is halfway tanky. This should help the resistance fighters live a little longer.
  • Space Pirate: item chance: 25% ⇒ 33%. Let’s be honest: When was the last time you saw four Space Pirates? Yup, same here.
  • Vanguard: Bonus Armor: 125/300/1,000 ⇒ 125/300/900 Unlike Chrono, our frontline fighters have an extremely strong trait when stacked. The 6 bonus is somewhat generated.

Tier 1

  • Fiora: Life: 450 ⇒ 500.

Tier 2

  • Zed: Attack Damage Steal: 20/25/40% ⇒ 20/33/50%. Combined with the rebel buff, Zed is now a really strong champion for the early game.

Tier 3

  • Bard: Passive Mana: 8/20/90 ⇒ 5/20/90. this nerf was urgently needed, Riot! Who doesn’t know it. In the first PVE rounds, two players find Bard in their Loot Orbs and put two Vanguards in front of it. In the early game you don’t have enough damage. And before the game even starts, those have meeps worth over 10 gold in the bank – you don’t even have that much in total!?
  • Master Yii: Additional absolute damage from The Chosen One: 75/100/175 ⇒ 75/100/150 He and his TFT brother Yasuo are currently a deadly combo. That should tone him down a bit – though a 3-star Yii has few natural enemies either way.

Level 4

  • Sizzle: damage from baitcast: 400/550/4,000 ⇒ 350/550/4,000. The nerf goes hand in hand with the strength of the mech, so it makes sense.
  • Jhin: Attack Speed: 0.9/0.95/1.2 ⇒ 0.85/0.9/1.2 Sniper combos with Jhin have dominated TFT not just since patch 10.15. Although it has already been generated, now another one is added. We fear that Jhin will remain an S-tier champion regardless.
  • : Attack Damage: 70 ⇒ 75 Tier 4 champions should be stronger than that, Riot. Even the rebel buff isn’t enough to revive the blasters.
  • Teemo: Attack Speed: 1.0 ⇒ 0.95 Teemo is the second carry of many Sniper combos and provides a fair amount of hybrid damage when combined with a Jhin.

Tier 5

  • Gangplank: Damage from Orbital Strike: 450/600/9,001 ⇒ 550/700/9,001 The last nerf hit the Pirate a bit hard. Riot boosts him again, so you can easily build a Sorcerer combo around him in the late game. The most important thing though: his 3-star damage. It’s still over 9000!!!

Item Changes

  • Hand of Justice: Heals by 50 life on one hit ⇒ Grants 50% healing from skills and normal attacks. The item might become a bit more relevant to the meta due to the buff. Before, you always hoped for the 50% increased damage – now both traits are useful….
  • Hextech Gunblade: Overhealing with this item now generates a shield (max 400 health). The Gunblade was a solid item anyway. Now it is definitely worth its consideration.
  • Amulet of the Iron Solari: Shield Strength: 250/275/350 ⇒ 250/300/375
  • Runaan’s Whirlwind: Attack damage multiplier: 70% ⇒ 75%.
  • Statikk’s Stab: Primary damage: 90 ⇒ 85
  • Statikk’s Stab now deals an additional 85 absolute damage if the target has a shield or is affected by crowd control. This is an interesting change for Xayah, for example, who can thus get through the front line with a CC-strong team.
  • Swordbreaker: chance to disarm: 25% ⇒ 33%. Swordbreaker is just not a good item, Riot. Not even with 33%…

The patch notes of patch 10.16 show that Riot quickly recognizes and fixes the problems in the game. In the last two weeks we saw mostly various Sniper combos, Mechs and 6 Vanguards in the frontline. How exactly the meta will transform will be seen in the stats over the next few weeks, but we at EarlyGame see a lot of potential for more diversity and variety in patch 10.16.

In addition to the changes analyzed above, there were also some Quality of Life changes and many 3-star variants of champions were adjusted. You can find an overview of these changes HERE.
